I think what's happening at the border is wrong and we can do a lot better but AOC is so far gone she has me defending the border situation.

She's clearly taken a page out of Trump's book. Honesty and integrity clearly have no place in our political culture.

    Sad.

Trump showed the template for achieving the worst of us. AOC's metoiric rise is further proof that a dogmatic devotion to a firm ideology and a charismatic individual is the winning political strategy. She has no business being in the position she's in, yet she's the rallying cry for an entire generation. Why is politics the one industry where a resume means so fucking little?

I thought it was funny for it’s randomness.

There’s a coordinated effort going on to collapse our Southern Border and Dems support it because they think they can ally themselves with immigrants for votes. There is nothing humanitarian about using others as pawns and every country has a right to have secure borders and an orderly immigration system that doesn’t overwhelm it’s resources and ability to integrate people into its society.

Let's just lay this out there for those of us who are a little slow on the uptake.

The use of the term "concentration camp" took on a whole new meaning after WWII, and it no longer means what the literal words mean any moar. It means a horrific place that, upon liberating them, shook the souls of hardened military officers who'd spent the previous few years up to their elbows in guts and body parts fighting a war. Incidents of inhuman behavior so depraved that our military made local towns folk walk in and see it up close and participate in the grave digging as punishment for having stood by and say they didn't know.

I have no idea what the conditions are like. None. Likely nobody here does either. They could well be brutal and shitty and shameful. IDFK.

What I do know, w/o even lifting a finger to research it, is that they are not fucking concentration camps, and if I were a Jew I'd be really fucking offended that she has chosen to use that term.

It's not hyperbole; it's fucking insensitive.

I see what you’re saying here but the issue is it’s not that the term “concentration camps” took on a whole new meaning, it’s that you think it did. And to be fair, there are plenty of people that agree with you. But there are also plenty of people that do not.

Look at the tweet again, it’s a link to a story of a Jewish journalist calling them concentration camps.

I’m sure they all feel blessed to have you be offended for them. I’m also sure you can find offended Jews. Would you like to be bet on who has the majority opinion amongst them? Because without even lifting a finger to research it, I know the majority will come down on AOCs side.

Generally, this would be a bullshit argument but you’re the one that made it about feelings, insensitivity and being Jewish.

The only people being dishonest are the ones saying those two definitions are the same.

When she used the term "concentration camps" in connection with the phrase "never again" she was comparing what we are doing to the Nazis. There comes a time when you just have to stop the kneepadding defense.

Common vernacular is the only relevant interpretation in this case. What do people think of when they hear "concentration camp"? The answer to that question is all that matters.

The actual definition of words when we’re discussing what the words mean is trying too hard?

Are people free to come and go from "concentration camps" if they decide they want to just go home APAG?

There are definitions and then there are what words actually mean to the hearer. AOC (and the Twitter brigade you are citing) are well aware of what concentration camp means to everyone who hears it, that's why they're trying so hard to get the label to stick.

It's intentionally intellectually dishonest even if it's technically accurate.

    But you know all this.

    What a non-issue. Seriously.

Lots of dumb, hyperemotional people who give this shit way more attention than it deserves.

In a world where the left is so concerned about triggering and micro aggressions and such it's pretty wild to watch the left throw their capes on for this.

All this will end up doing is distract from the actual issue on the border, but it will score AOC some points with her base so I guess it's worth it.

With all that said, and Jake Browning still sucking, I'd prefer she just flash her tits at me before they reach the top of her V.

    What?

Trump is telling the truth about the border. AOC and her team have blood on their hands. Its a fucking mess and the last message that should be going out is come on up!

The democrats changed detention laws, made asylum seekers get a free in country ticket, and helped to flood the Obama Detention Centers.

Mexico and Central America are helping more than Congress

There are a lot of things that both sides do. And there are a lot of GOP types that want open borders (Hi Damone!!)

Trump isn't one of them. We could get a deal to close off the border, kick out the bad hombres, and start a path for the entrenched non criminals.

    Instead we get this shit
