It's just mindboggling that they continue to use a rich, booming, prosperous state as an example

Ha ha ha Another moron. California is essentially bankrupt. They are trillions in debt, their pension program which is heavily invested in the stock market is today unsustainable even though we are at unprecedented levels in the Dow and NASDAQ. When the market takes a downturn it will triple their problems. Liberal government policies have destroyed a state that should be a beacon for all states and countries. It is fools like yourself who evidently like sticking your head in the sand hoping that horrible liberal leadership has done a good job when the exact opposite is the truth.

California has good weather and an ocean, clearly the govt must be doing something right.

Retarded credit analysis and opinion like this (hyperbolic, purposely deceptive and incomplete) allows smart investors the opportunity to pick the pockets of rubes. So in other words, thanks!

Poverty is high because the cost of living is high. The cost of living is high because so many people want to live here and because of massive wealth creation. As problems go, it's a good one to have, because there are sources of funding for redistribution and investment in infrastructure that benefits everybody

but yeah let's write off California because Dems and browns grumble grumble

Bullshit. The counties with the highest rates of poverty are mostly all in the central valley where the cost of living is the lowest. The second and 3rd states with the highest rates of poverty after California are LA and FLA two states with a much lower cost of living.

California has high rates of poverty because it has high number of illegal and legal immigrants with low job skills. Also the very generous welfare benefits the state offers are a magnet for parasites. California was the only state to not see a large drop in it's welfare rolls after the 90s Welfare reform because Clinton allowed California to exempt itself. While welfare rates were plummeting across the country they stayed steady in California and that's how the state ended up with 1/3 of all welfare recipients.

Yet you choose to live there.
Which has absolutely nothing to do with why California has a high rate of poverty but I guess it gives a lying dumbfuck something to say.
You hate it so much. Leave!!!
So unless you're willing to leave, there's really nothing wrong with California. Kunt logic, is there anything it can't do?

Selling annuities to millennials whose Daddy just died and reverse mortgages to those about to die doesn’t take an ounce of shrewdness. HTH.
