You're mad because people are forcing you to think about it when you want to go back to your priviliged position of not having to.
This SJW shit is insufferable. Ive never once said that black Americans dont have obstacles to overcome that are unique. My argument has been consistent. You keep glossing over the fact there is not many black recruits on the west coast compared to the south. This impacts UW recruiting.
Similar to how no school east of the western seaboard signed 10 polynesian recruits. POLYNESIANS DO NOT LIVE IN THE SOUTH OR MIDWEST OR EAST. STATISTICALLY IT IS LESS THAN 0.1%.
It's fucking demographics. You guys are literally searching for shit that doesn't exist, and Cornell has not provided any proof. -
Football coach doesn't want black players may well be the dumbest thing I've ever heard here.
There's no need to argue in good faith when you talk like a fag and your shits all retarded.NorwegianHusky said:

There is no racial recruiting plan were Peterson favors one race over another or half black or whatever you’re trying to say. JFC this is the fucking dumbest shit I have ever read. Ever.
This has been said several times already, but no one thinks Petersen doesn't recruit players because they're black, or because he wants worse outcomes for black athletes. The argument being made is that Petersen's recruiting philosophy leads to less black players being recruited, and because of that it should be reevaluated.
If the way you recruit excludes black people, that's a problem. It's not necessarily racist per se, but if you don't see it as a problem and refuse to adress it, that's problematic. And if put the onus completely on black athletes to conform to a certain standard in order to be recruited, rather than trying to understand their side and try to include them, that's also problematic. If you think the black athletes are the issue, that actually is racist.
"OKG" is his recruiting system based on the kind of locker room culture he wants in his program.
The issue is that the RESULT of this strategy is that you end up excluding black people because of your narrow parameters. No is saying that happens based on concious racist beliefs, but it still ends up as de facto discrimination, which is BAD even if it's unintentional.
The socio-economic aspect just makes it even worse, but even if I had a thousand years to life I don't think I could get people like you and PGOS to actually understand the concept of institutional racism. Suffice to say, if you wont give someone a ladder our of their socio-economic hole, they're likely going to stay there, and whatever reason you have for doing so is never going to be very morally justifiable.
You literally haven't heard that here. No has said that. Your problem is that you don't want to have a discussion. You want to tell people why they're wrong and you're right. "People like you..." Yes, that is a great way to invite someone in to a discussion and attempt to influence their thought. Tell me more about how morally superior you are to anyone else who doesn't agree lock-step with you. Never encountered that problem before living in Western Washington....The Norweigian who lives in a country with hardly any black people is now the enlightened one who can tell us all about race relations.NorwegianHusky said:

Personally, I am more inclined to listen to data and facts presented versus theory and feelings. I haven't looked up the roster at UW vs other west coast schools, but if PGOS is accurate about demographics of the PAC12 teams and UW's being in line with them I'm not sure where you're trying to go with all of this. OKG would not be the cause in that case, and then you have to consider what other factors might be in play (such as demographics, which I honestly have no clue if that argument holds merit and am not going to waste time researching).
Also, re: the bolded section. NO KIDDING. That is exactly what I said with regards to the Marcus Peters example. My point is that if the culture that Pete wants in the locker room ends up having the impact that there is less of a likelihood that the team is then so be it. You're arguing from the perspective of disparate impact theory, which I am very familiar with and can speak to its impacts and legalities far more than you as it's something I have encountered professionally and have been working on in various ways for many years. I understand exactly where you're going and I happen to disagree with you. -
You should take a drive through the Tug to get some perspective on this point. When you get back, I think you'll see @Pitchfork51 in a whole new light.NorwegianHusky said:

As many of you seem like the glory hole types I'm gonna assume you know there's an AIDS vaccine or something now. I really wish I had that before reading through all of this.
I'll fucking repeat myself: no one thinks Petersman is racist. People think his recruiting system may be having an unintentional disparate impact. It's a short leap from that to young black men thinking there is discrimination. Perception > reality.
But what is reality? How many black, not Poly/mixed, players did Washington sign in 2019 and 2018? I'm not going to nitpick people's race based on their picture, but feel free to do so. I can tell you the ratio is way off for a typical P-5 team.
The 'OKG is racist' thing wasn't invented in this thread. It's been around for a while, Oregon fans haven't been shy about spreading it and recruits are aware.
But it's a Poly shift! They aren't white and they are the beneficiaries! Except that doesn't fucking matter. Fortune500 companies spend millions each year to make sure their policies, no matter how well intentioned, aren't having a disparate impact on their hiring and promotion strategies. A public university giving out scholarships is under the same obligation.
As for demographics: you're not building a team based on the demographics of your region. If that was the case then USC and UCLA would have a Los in front of their name. It would also mean that half of Washington's population is Poly. -
