I will always maintain that it is born of guilt. They subconsciously hate the part of themselves that is clearly racist. They only see color and physical attributes , people who don't look like them, which makes them racist. With others, color or ethnicity doesn't register as they use personality and aura to judge a person by. The latter don't have that guilt and don't believe things such as black people are to stupid to know how to get ID to vote or that they (the guilty white liberals) are qualified to judge how many Asians, African Americans, Hispanic or Caucasian need to be accepted to liberal institutions of learning. They are guilty white liberals full of narcissism and elitism, they will determine how the races are to be divided and rewarded in our society and for that they give themselves pats on the back and feel good about themselves. They turn their racism into more racism and somehow it gives them a chubby for doing so.

this narrative of the secretly racist, ill-intentioned and self-loathing white person has become hackneyed, especially so in today's political climate. I'm sorry. I know it won't be my big upvote day, but IDRGAF. I know lots of people on all points of the political spectrum. Most of the card-carrying liberals I know well do not believe minorities are stupid, but rather REALLY buy into the idea of the cumulative effects of years of those demographics getting the shit end of the stick. Jim Crow isn't a problem that went away 100 years ago. The country was incredibly racist, and not just in the south, and not that very long ago. It's not the most absurd thing anyone has ever come up with.
yeah, I know there are assholes out there who hide behind liberal politics to mask a more malevolent view of the minority in America. my experience, and it's not inconsiderable, is that they are the exception to the rule.
now don't go twistin' with Kim. I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with classic liberal approaches to trying to "fix" old problems. by and large, I don't. I think affirmative action early on had its place, but I also have huge issues with it and think it's more harmful than helpful in the long run. but I don't know a single white supporter of affirmative action who is really just a racist in sheep's clothing. that's mostly bullshit. -
