Family member went to the ER 3 years ago. 4 hour visit. $9, 000. Insurance said they would pay none because of deductible. But the bill should be $6,000 per rates negotiated with the insurance company. (Deductible was $6500). Family member said fuck off, how much to not use insurance and pay cash? $1,500 and if paid in full right now take off 10%.
