    Healthcare is probably the only political issue I care about. And I don't care that much

    Getting healthcare completely not tied to employment is the goal.

    For younger people your biggest asset is mobility.
    At least based on my experience.
    Owning a home if you are in your 20s is generally a crutch in my opinion.

    I have Canadian friends. They aren't big fans. One of them is well to do. He came to the US and paid cash for a needed surgery. It was a long wait up in Canuckia and he was miserable.

    I think a decent median step might be to have a basic health insurance that covers routine stuff and like breaking an arm or whatever then have a supplemental for serious things like cancer or aids.

    Healthcare is probably the only political issue I care about. And I don't care that much

    I'd pay a few million to some dipshit data scientists to rank other countries healthcare systmss on cost to citizen, cost to govt, avg waiting times for basic ER stuff, and level of care for higher level sicknesses

    Then whichever one comes on top I'd copy.

    Getting healthcare completely not tied to employment is the goal.

    Guns - nope loser issue

    Abortion - nope loser issue (the more the better)

    Immigration - no more unskilled labor, no asylum at all

    Climate change - no one cares loser issue

    I actually can get behind your list. Seriously. We're pretty close. I'm not wound up about unskilled labor; I think we still need it and giving everybody what they want makes things expensive. But, that said, it's an area on which I can compromise rather easily. I wouldn't die on the hill for it. I think we should always keep a skeptical eye on protectionist policy, because although it feels good in the short term, it's a long-term loser. The free market, with some modifiers on the edges, is the engine that built this thing. Not the pledge of allegiance. I'll defer to @UW_Doog_Bot on that last point and stand to be corrected.

    I think the only reason people get riled up about certain issues is because the other side makes a big deal about it.

    Like realistically was illegal immigration a huge partisan thing before Trump was mean? No.

    I just worry that Obamacare fucked up any bipartisan agreement on healthcare. Which is a problem.
