If you whiff on TE for the 19 cycle...yupHillsboroDuck said:

Not the fairest comparison. I would love if they offered Gee but if there is a reason they haven't, good reason or not, then its a different situationHillsboroDuck said:

Some of you just don’t get it with BBK
Dude MASSIVELY improved from his junior to senior year and had a knack for making plays
That being said, if you watched the film closely you’d still see some of the things Dennis has talked about showing up.
It’s not about BBK being an excellent P12 LB ... he was DPOY for a reason
The point as it is and will be for every player is how does that player compare and help us beat the Bama’s, Clemson’s, etc
I don’t know if Wellington will slide in seamlessly ... the fact it is being suggested is a bit telling to me
The reality is that the leveling up in LB is the guys we got in the 2019 class with the 2018 class on the whole being about a half step behind that.
IMO, I’m not sure that BBK or Wellington would have been part of the 2019 class if they were HS players -

We would not have taken BBK in the 2019 class, but would have definitely taken Wellington. At the time he committed to UW he was ranked like the #4 RB in the country. His ranking changed but he was still a composite 4* and considered to be a top flight recruit.Tequilla said:Some of you just don’t get it with BBK

Our biggest recruiter for Matavao is Justin Tuitele. That Poly patriarchial influence supersedes everything. Matavao dad and Tuitele don’t fuck around and won’t let their boys make a senseless decision.

All I want is a BBK replacement that plays as well or better ... but at 2 inches taller and 25-30 lbs heavier, naturally.
Couple with our levelling up in our defensive line/edge play and we're fucking rolling!
Danny Hammer? Botelho? Ah You? Calvert? Tuputala? .... -
Wellington has the physical tools but has always struggled a bit with size which has led him to injuries
Who would Wellington have been taken over in the 2019 class? I’m interested in names. -

It's not a matter of who we would have taken him over, he committed a year or more before signing day. He likely would have been our 1st commit in the 2019 class as wellTequilla said:Wellington has the physical tools but has always struggled a bit with size which has led him to injuries

Meanwhile....
There is a totally badass Poly TE in Nevada who is friends with Fautanu and is cousins with Tuitele and will be coming to UW.
Anyone want to talk about him? Or would you all like to talk about whether BBK was always good or just made a huge jump and whether Wellington will be the same or whether it matters because Sirmon/Tafisi/Hammer/Calvert/Tuputala/Ah You will all be bigger and better? -
Why would we talk about Poly TE?DoogCourics said:Meanwhile....

Has the offense changed? Last I checked we only had Black TE and White TE... -

Hmmnn. When was the last time Miami put a good te into the league? Honestly, I can only think of Winslow and he's on trial right now.
-
David Njoku went 1st round but he's as much of a "TE" as Jimmy Graham isanimate said:Hmmnn. When was the last time Miami put a good te into the league? Honestly, I can only think of Winslow and he's on trial right now.

Jimmy Graham, Greg Olsen, and David Njoku as far as headline names go. They've gotten a few more most likely too.animate said:Hmmnn. When was the last time Miami put a good te into the league? Honestly, I can only think of Winslow and he's on trial right now.
Don't necessarily think they are TEU, but they got some guys, although Olsen could be done soon. -
Yeah, I mean, look at Iowa.
They had two! First round te's in 2019.
Two!
If any place is tight end u it's Iowa. -
Yep and add Kittle being one of the top 2 TEs in the NFL last year.animate said:Yeah, I mean, look at Iowa.

I sense some disrespect for coach Paopao coming up. Let's put a stop this right now. Wherever paopao is is the best place for TEs.
-
If by best place you mean location of lightly recruited 3 🌟 that he’ll make a millionaire then yes, I agree.Bread said:I sense some disrespect for coach Paopao coming up. Let's put a stop this right now. Wherever paopao is is the best place for TEs.
Granted this kid is a national recruit, redman is close to national. BB was big time as well but that was a layup.
In powpow player development we trust. -
This is the kind of stuff that makes no sense to me, and a coach at any level should know better. Is Miami "TE U?" Who knows? Who cares? Njoku? Olsen? Shockey? There is a whole new coaching staff at Miami. The coaches that coached those guys are gone, so who cares if they were good.FKA_Mousecop said: -
