I have no doubt that she was put on the committee because establishment dems think it will end up hurting her. And anything that makes progressives look bad is good for Trump. We know he owns establishment democrats. We’ll see if she steps in it.

Your take on politics sucks. She was put on the committee because she wanted to be on the committee and most likely this was the price Pelosi paid for her support.

We had a moderate Democrat in the White House for 8 years and he did fuck all.

The majority of Americans support Medicare for all, free college, green new deal, raising minimum wage and a 70% top tax rate. But Democrats need to run someone who doesn’t support those things to win? Like the last democratic nominee? Not like Bernie Sanders, who happens to be the most popular politician in America.

If you want a moderate Democrat as the nominee in 2020 it’s because you want the Democrats to lose. Simple fact.

If you explained the cost of Medicare for all and "free" college and your green new deal support for those program would drop. That poll might as well have asked would you like eating ice cream and cake if you knew you weren't going to gain any weight.

Bullshit. Medicare is the only one on that list I'm willing to pay for. Average person can't save enough to be properly insured in old age, and there comes a point when working isn't an option. On that point, I'm left of center. People need healthcare, and while we're figuring it out, Medicare needs to remain funded. I'll leave it to the experts whether it needs an overhaul like Welfare, but philosophically that's something that should be there as part of a decent safety net.

Free college? Fuck that. 70%? Fuck you. Green New Deal? Tell me what it is first.

Yes, I want a moderate Democrat. And that's how they'll win. Parade another banana in front of the electorate and watch what happens.

Besides, who are they? going to vote for if they're disenchanted with the moderate candidate? Didn't Bernie teach them all a lesson in splitting the vote?

Jimminy Christmas I can't believe you believe that.
Following this line of thinking led the Democrats to losing everything over the course of 20 years. Go ahead and lose again. I give zero fucks about winning in 2020.

I am on board with the healthcare thing. Mainly because the idea of tying healthcare to your employer is fucking stupid.

    But apag misses the point.

The goal is to win, not change the fucking world during a campaign. Cunt.

If the base of your party wants a bunch of policies that the majority of Americans support and you don’t run on those policies it’s because you want to lose.

    Americans want healthcare delivery fixed

The devil is in the details. Last time a democrat tried it he made it worse. Then the GOP said hold my beer while we half ass a repeal that isn't one that we promised for years

I just did some quick 5 minute research on the free college thing. Most surveys and polls in the last two years seem to indicate about 2/3rds of Americans support it, so APAG is technically correct. But, nowhere in the surveys I found were any costs mentioned. I would be interested to see the results when the question is asked do you support free college, and your state and federal taxes will rise by XXX percentage to pay for it. I think the answers would be much different. Perhaps not.

I didn't bother to look at the laundry list of other shit because even though I am stupid I know that would bankrupt the country trying to pay for green deals, and free college and health care for all. Even soaking the rich at 70% wouldn't finance all of that shit. You'd have to raise taxes dramatically on the middle class and sort of rich as well, thereby negating most of the benefit. But hey, the really dirt poor would gets lots of free shit and keep voting for AOC. so there's that.

We already pay for college and healthcare. Things we already pay for are going to bankrupt the country?

We don't provide "free" college and the Federal government still doesn't pay for most people's healthcare.

Free college? How about the colleges make it more affordable? Stop paying professorsbureaucrats and administrators $200k+ per year.

Both the rise in cost(and decline in quality) of academis and healthcare can be directly correlated with when the government started "making it affordable". Administrators and Bureaucrats pocket the extra money while the majority of people pick up the check and suppliers can supply a lower quality product at the same price.

It's called crowding out. It's a fairly established concept in Economics.

Free college is just another way to shift $$$ to the elitist academics. Those fucks at universities are already well-compensated as financed by crushing college debt.

I'm down with some form of health care for all. I don't have a philosophical issue providing basic care for all, focusing on prevention and wellness. You want Cadillac coverage, pay for it just like now.

Bring home a few more troops and scale back on military and international aid. Get shit back in order at home - rebuild infrastructure (crumbing bridges, highways, dams, etc.) and focus on providing cheap, high speed broadband for every corner of the country. Just like the interstate highway system changed the game in the 50's and 60's, the web is doing the same in the 21st century. Put big $$$ on that - both in hardware and brainware trying to make it even better.

Fuck the green shit as priority #1. The Chinese and Indians are fucking up the world 100x what the US is causing. Don't worry about things you can't control.

Throbber 2020 (D). Hope. Change. Tittays.

Can I be your campaign manager? Will there be girls?
Well, yeah....I'm the Throbber. They'll flock to the candidate ala Donna Rice. Except hotter. You can be in charge of filtering out the ugly ones. And by filtering out, I mean, getting a hummer from the ugly ones. The Throbber can overlook certain deficiencies in the looks department in exchange for mad oral skillz.

And in the interest of transparency, all sexual related activities in the campaign will be posted to pornhub.com. Especially late night drunken hook ups with the hottie political commentators like Hallie Jackson when she's looking good...not the ragged out version.

In exchange for a moderate campaign contribution from pornhub.com, of course.

    And per-view royalties.

    I'm in!

This took an interesting turn. Two things. When APAG says Trump owns establishment Democrats he means can beat them.

My point was that one of the things that works against Trump is tone and decorum but the Muslim chick calling him a motherfucker and doubling down on lying about the Kentucky kids plays to his mudder strengths. Maybe throw some female genital mutilation in.

2020 wont be about free shit it will be about general us v them shit. Hillary lost because she insulted her base everybody. The key to victory is getting them back IMO

Yeah, this is, sadly, just all correct, except for the one fix.

You are so fucking wrong it's almost @StrongArmCobra level.

First of, setting wining aside, which I think we all agree is its own analysis, I just don't believe in a lot of that shit. Build and fund a sound safety net. Social Security, Medicare, Reasonable Financial Aid for deserving students, etc. All good.

Free College? Hate to reference bobsled, but he's right: what the fuck is that even? Same with Green Deal. What is it? And what do we? have to give up to have it? Because taxing Besos, Gates, the Oracle and their buddies at 70 won't do diddly shit. You know who that's really gonna hit? Me.

And it's not necessary. We don't need free college. We don't need more college students. Let's face it. You take WSU or Arizona, two schools that drew a lot of the kids my kids went to school with. These are not intellectual giants we're educating here. These are kids who are completely checking the college box and who spend most of their time taking Greek party pictures to make sure everyone knows they're in "college", or what they and their stupid parents think college is. It ain't that. We don't need more of that.

The people who will benefit from a college education and put it to work their whole lives through will find a way. There is still $$ out there.

Focus on the things that matter. Tell a 40K a year guy that he's going to have his SS and he and his wife will have health insurance when they're 70. That is what they are worried about. Not free fucking college and green deals. Jimminy.

I am waiting for AOC's 12 year plan while in congress. If the world is going to end does free healthcare even matter? Education? Anyone over 40 should immediately retire and spend their last 12 years having fun right? We have nothing to worry about. In 10 years I will stop paying any rent or mortgage because it takes that long for banks and property owners to kick you out. I am kind of liking this certainty AOC has heaped upon us.

Retirement is for losers. My aging wife and I haven't had insurance since I started bouncing jobs in my mid life crisis as Obamacare took effect

It's an issue for sure. The cost now is ridiculous

Professors themselves are fine, but their pay is definitely part of the problem. Professor pay is part of a systematic issue with the entire college system of wasteful spending. I wonder how nationalizing it will fix it. It’s almost like putting an even more inefficient system in charge might make it worse.
