Many here would think city teams are better than most suburb teams, but it’s not the case. Camas dominates 4A in Washington with Woodinville probably the next best.
No Seattle or Tacoma team is ever any good with the exception of O’Dea which is a Catholic school. I bet it’s similar around the country.
When I played in high school there was always a star basketball or track athlete that would play in the spring. Every one flamed out and either quit or barely played. And we weren’t even that good. It’s not easy to start playing football, get used to hitting, and running in the gear.
Discipline and feeder programs matter. A lot. Garbers and Redman play in the OC. Everyone there is white.
