The Boy Scouts of America is considering declaring bankruptcy, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The Wednesday report comes in the wake of sinking membership and multiple controversies surrounding the 108-year-old organization, including sex abuse allegations and its controversial decision to change its program name from Boy Scouts to Scouts BSA and allow girls into that program.

Chicago law firm Sidley Austin has reportedly been hired to assist in what would be a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

    I hated the Boy Scouts and got kicked out so I wouldn't have to stay but that doesn't mean I think everyone should hate them.

    There's a lot of homophobic people in the country. That being said, kids don't give a shit about boy scouts. And parents are to interested in playing on Facebook all day to care about getting their kids in boy scouts. But keep blaming the gays.

    Even when I was young we would sit around and watch TV all day if we could and TV was shitty back then.

    Parents have a role to play. If they are lazy dumping the kids at the YMCA or the Scouts gets them out of the house

    The Boy Scouts were the Boy Scouts. There was no reason for them to change. If they died then they died. I don't think you can completely discount the effect of the bullshit. It is likely to be more conservative parents who like Scouting and what it stood for. They are also likely to not like to be told how to do it so some fag can diddle boys in the woods. Coach at Penn State if that is what you are after

    Allowing girls to join the Boy Scouts is what put the stake in the heart of Scouts.

    Of course some kids would rather play video games, or as Race noted watch TV, and before that it was go to the movies and listen to the radio, the Scouts weren't for everyone but it was an organization that could teach young boys useful skills, and instill certain values and patriotism. The left fucking hated Scouts because of this.
