I’m checking out on Lebron. Here’s the thing, he won’t try on defense. It’s one thing to take bullshit possessions off over the course of the game, it’s another to not try at the end of games. Up 4 with 15 seconds left he just gave Rudy Gay an open 3. He easily could have closed out and forced Gay to drive, instead he just stood there watching. This started two years ago when he just gave Durant open 3s in the Finals.

The Lakers are not going to be a good defensive team but they could be ok if they do all the little things. Closing out, not losing guys for open 3s and layups, boxing out. Lebron doesn’t do those things so why would anyone else? This team won’t make the playoffs.

JaVale failing to box out Aldridge twice on the same possession late in the 4th. Shit like that is going to be the difference between playoffs or not

Isn’t he just coasting until next season anyway when he assembles his next super team?

And this is what all the MJ > LBJ truthers have said from the beginning.

LeBron is unquestionably the more talented player. He can do more things, more easily, than MJ ever could.

But he's never had Mike's killer instinct.

Michael wanted it more than Bron.

    Welcome back.

2019-20 is when the REAL Lakers start. I still think they make the playoffs this year, but get bounced early (1st or second round).

Both Miami and Cleveland (2nd time) started out cold when he first got there. It's hard.

    Not your best effort.

Who’s coming to play with a 34 year old that can’t make the playoffs?

Lebron has no incentive to try this year. The way this team is constructed, they can't compete with the top teams in the West. He should just save his legs for next year when they get a lottery pick and a couple max players to come on board. That will then be a team that can challenge the Warriors.
