Their schedule is super soft up front. If they aren't undefeated coming into our? game it would be indicate they are really shitty. Also remember when we? were rated highly in like 2002 or 2003 because, well, we? were Washington. Ultimately we ended up shitty. I can see Oregon having a Cody Pickett type shitty senior season where they beat who they should but ultimately you can see the wheels coming off.

Because their out of conference schedule is shit, and their in conference schedule is shit.

And also, you know, having a first round talent at THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN ALL OF TEAM SPORTS.

Additionally, being ranked in the top 25 mattered in 1988. CFB is dreck. People want to go to four 16 team super conferences and fight it out from there, essentially cutting the FBS in half, and that still leaves 3/4 of the teams with zero chance of ever winning anything.
