Just like Alex Jones. This is free pub for her. And you guys are playing into it.

Well, if true, that's not a good look. A free and open press is on of the many things that has made this country a more desirable place to live than the "vulnerable" immigrant community's birth nations.

I'm not a fan of her in any way. But aren't there a lot of meetings and such that both Democrats and Republican have where the press isn't invited?

Ah, so establishment polticians doing closed conference calls and private fundraising dinners with their donors is fine but keeping press out of a town hall with constituents is suddenly a threat to the 1st amendment.

    It was a public event.
Ok then fundraisers and conference calls with wealthy donors should be public or provide transcripts to reporters.

Or it’s fine if she wants to hold a private event with constituents who don’t even have to pony up for her access.

It was billed as a townhall event, not a private event. The reasons she gave for excluding the press were complete horseshit.
There was an illegal immigrant from our state that was targeted by ICE and deported just because he spoke to the press if I recall

And she's getting free pub for it. Right or wrong. The outrage helps her.

    Illegal immigrants aren't constituents
Ah so people who live and work in her district, many of them for decades, and who are directly impacted by her proposed policies are not her constituents and should not be allowed access to her.

Maybe we should only allow uber wealthy immigrants to provide input into our politics. Rupert Murdoch perhaps. He’s been such a positive influence on our political system in his time here.

I didn't say they shouldn't have access to her.

You're the one who brought up how she should be able to meet with her constituents in this thread. Multiple times. I agree.

Then you brought up how the presence of the press can be a threat to illegal immigrants. Which may well be true.

But by definition illegal immigrants are not her constituents, unless you're arguing that they vote anyway, which would be a very off brand argument for you.
I believe her constituents are everyone who lives in her district whether they vote or not, and everyone whether they’re legal immigrants or not. They are impacted by politics regardless and should be able to talk to the politicians that make policy decisions.

And if the politican wants to provide a setting that makes those people feel more comfortable voicing their concerns then that is also fine.
