They definitely aren't in the ski towns of the west. Those places are a sausage fest for the most part. Guess that makes my vote a little homo, but oh well. I love the mountains above all else.

    Why do you hate Hawaii?

Welp. You could have almost all of them on the Big Island. Something like 20 of the worlds 23?climates on that Island alone. You can go from Rain Forest to desert in about 15 minutes.

Write in for the BWk. High Desert of Central Oregon. Could have bought there 15 years ago and was a stooge and didn't. Good fuckin luck now though as it's all a service economy to those who sold their LA houses in 2005.

Although I think it would be prime area for a classy escort service. May need to retain @swaye as a consultant to do some market research in the area.

I'm changing my vote to BWk now after having lived here for coming up on a year. The winters are totally mild and I will take a little bit of snow (40" on average at my house) all day long over the West Side rain. Summers can get a tad hot but temp swings overnight are great for not having to run AC constantly.

2018 prices? Lulz. It was still cheap as fuck back then @Kaepsknee . You should see the 2021 prices.

Man you're so right. I love the area and just did some cursory review of houses and pricing and it didn't look like much of anything of value was available. I thought maybe there might be options available in the outlying areas but I couldn't find anything on the internet at least.

I guess I've always thought of the Bend/Black Butte area as alpine. YS, I've always thought I wanted to retire there but can't imagine spending $2mm to get what I want in a home. I'm jealous.
