Private enterprise (w/o major Gubmint backing) would have never got the following dun:

    - Transcontinental Railroads
    - All the god damned dams
    - Interstate Hwy System
    - Panama Canal
    - Electricity in Rural 'Merica (even in 1940 most of rural America had no juice; private enterprise wasn't going to get it done because there wasn't enough profit to me made)
    - The internets (i.e., Cold War DOD spending)
    - Splitting atoms into electricity

The list goes on and on. Some shit's just to big for private enterprise.

    - Transcontinental Railroads (allowed moving hookers from east coast to west coast quickly)
    - All the god damned dams (saved hookers from drowning in floods)
    - Interstate Hwy System (made it easier to drive to hookers in major cities)
    - Panama Canal (opened South American up to trade and allowed for cocaine)
    - Electricity in Rural 'Merica (even in 1940 most of rural America had no juice; private enterprise wasn't going to get it done because there wasn't enough profit to me made) (you can now fuck a hooker with the lights on, and keep beer chilled)
    - The internets (i.e., Cold War DOD spending) (porn on demand)
    - Splitting atoms into electricity (nukes are cool)

    You won me over.

Sometime I'll have you over for a fireside chat at my shitty little N. Seattle house and regale you with stories of how Socialism saved Capitalism. I'll apologize in advance for all the potholes the gubmint hasn't been able to fix in 40 years.

That was when America was great

Killing enemies and building roads are what the gubmint should be doing. Effectively.

It's not that private enterprises can't, it's that they won't.

Laying new taxes on gas is retarded. It causes the price of everything to go up because it causes the price of transportation and shipping to go up. If Trump wants to negate the effect of tax reform and look like a jackass, this is the way to do it.

It would only negate the tax cut for the middle class. I'm glad you finally came to the realization that only Trump and his buddies are getting a tax cut.

The fed gas tax is very reasonable and hasn't been raised since the 90's. Its like 25 cents.

The issue is that the states have taken up all the margin with high state gas taxes and they spend it on bike lanes and trains to Fresno.

I can tell you for a fact that the price of gas was HUGE when I was poor a couple years ago. It took careful planning to have enough gas to get to work and back. I actually had to give up booze, weed, and cigars for about 6 months.

We need the infrastructure repaired. The issue as always is the lack of accountability by the government with our money.

Its not like they haven't been collecting billions all these years while the roads rot.

Let us not forget the privilege tax in Oregon when buying a vehicle 3 years old or newer.

Gas taxes should be abolished. Getting rid of that fucking stupid tax is not only an immediate tax cut for everyone, its a tax cut in the form of lower prices on everything you buy. The other benefit is the immediate weakening of the power of out of control state and federal government bureaucracy.

A 30 cents per gallon gas tax on gas priced at $2.80/gallon is an 11% tax on your gas, as well as an 11% tax on every mother fucking thing you buy. That's before and after and every fucking day in between, you've paid your income tax, your shitty sales tax, and every other tax you pay. Axe that shit and prices on everything go down quickly, as companies pass the savings on to consumers because they're forced to, due to free market mechanisms.

I do appreciate that you deviate from the company line. Unlike race and sledog who just suck Trump's dick.
