I'm wondering if this hire means that Sirmon is the future and DeRuyter has other plans. He's a former HC who probably wants another shot at the top job somewhere, so it makes sense to have another qualified guy waiting in the wings to take over. BI says that Sirmon was making nearly $1M at Looville, so I'm a little baffled at where they're finding money in the budget to pay him what he's used to being paid, in addition to having former HCs DeRuyter and Baldwin on staff also.
