Query for the Bored - Eason
Serious Question. Why am I supposed to be excited about an Eason transfers?
History says most transfers are transferring because they weren't good enough to get meaningful time on the team they were playing on. Outside of Russell Wilson (grad transfer btw) who has had major success at their next stop?
The vast majority are Jake Heaps type. What did Max Browne do at Pitt? Not much. Who was the DB that transferred from Bama? Anybody hear from him? No.
Am I supposed to be excited for no more Jack Brownsocks? So fucking what, he won't be around in '19 anyway.
This feels like the time I was supposed to be excited for HWSNBN after he got fired from ND. Seems like a whole lot of unnecessary dooging going on.
I like to doog it up as much as the next guy, but I fail to understand the excitement. Seems like far more transfers never do anything meaningful. I would love to be wrong.
Please to be explaining ....

I hope he never plays for us.
My expectation is that he'll be the starting QB in 2019 though. I don't think he'd be coming here if that wasn't the expectation on his end and the staff's end. I think they'll let one of the kids beat him out if they can, but if it's close the job will be Eason's.
The one thing I will say is that Eason got beat out a) because of injury and b) Wally Pipped by a kid who took them to the NC game. It's not like he just couldn't win the job.
I don't have super high expectations either but I know he has real talent, and that's something we have lacked in our QB depth.
His situation at Georgia is more nuanced than he simply got passed up. The corch that recruited Skinny to Jahjah left. Smart then recruits the homegrown version of Eason (in terms of profile) the next class, and has a 5* QB committed for 2018 class (not sure if he's a local kid). Skinny got hurt, and Smart's own local superstar steps in and does nothing to lose the job.
None of that means Skinny doesn't suck. But a very different situation than Max Browne not getting it done for 3-4 years at SC.
It's just a numbers game is all it is. Get as much talent as you possibly can and whoever wins from there... congrats to them. That goes for every position.
I could be wrong though.
Is this even possible?
