We don't always have to recruit with the elites at lb to find big, fast dudes that can tackle and can learn how to execute as scheme. Even Ty was found two great lbs in Butler and Foster and we know he had no shot at stealing anyone that USC or even Cal or the Arizona schools wanted.
They need to not fall back on guys like BBK that they can steal from low end Pac 12 and Mtn West schools. Find some big, undeveloped specimens when you can't get th guys you want. At least there's a chance that you'll find a few that can develop. We all know what the ceiling is for 200 lb white kids that pile up tackles as high schoolers in Idaho or Wyoming and it isn't in the same universe as a Donald Butler or Mason Foster...even a Travis Feeney.
Not saying UW should accept plan B recruiting at lb or that they can make a living off of guys who's only good offer was UW so don't twist. Just saying the fallback strategy to date has been wrong. These guys are supposed to be better at finding talent than previous UW coaches. If Ty could find the guys he did they should be able to do the same when necessary.
