We scored 7 points vs ASU. DB’s and Browning were the main reason for Stanford loss. LB isn’t a problem. Let your BBK obsession go.Baseman said:AtomicDawg said:
Linebackers have been good. Just one position was underwhelming. That's the buck. Feeney and Littleton could bring heat from the edge but feeney was playing out of position should have been a situational pass rusher. Azeem RIP and bierra have been good.ToddTurnerLIVES said:Other than the 1 year of kikaha this coaching staff has never had an elite BUCK that is versatile enough to play in space, stop the run and rush the passer. As amazing as our defense has been under Kwat I think the LBs have definitely been a weakness for us and our lack of an elite pass rusher has held this defense back. If Tryon is that elite guy off the edge then pairing him with Kaho is going to vault this D to another level. We've gotten elite play from our secondary and defensive line which should continue going forward, but the play of the LBs is about to move from solid to elite over the next 2-3 seasons and our defense is going to take the next step.

Ahh. No.
See ASU and Stanford.
BBK and Jonathon Smith are the reason this team is playing before New Years. -
Great fucking sample size. Bama secondary sucks because they could not stop Watson. See how dumb I sound.Baseman said:

He also ran over our entire fucking team. Our offense couldn't stay off the sideline.Baseman said:

Please bring up how the linebackers were a liability vs asu this year. Can't wait to hear.
Pettis and Ross couldn't generate space consistently vs bama, therefore our wr's are not good. -
Lol This whole BBK thing is getting to be so fucking retarded.

This is fucking retarded on so many levels other than the point about Smith.Baseman said:

Barkley > Love
Zeem > BBK
Lubick or anyone with a heartbeat > Smith -
BBK stinks. He's a guy who could dominate at Montana State, but fundamentally is not good.
What is the evidence people use that he's good? Number of tackles!!
I cannot think of a more worthless stat than number of tackles. It does not tell you where the tackles were made, whether he hit a guy and the guy went down, or whether BBK (as is often the case) allowed the ball carrier 2-3 extra yards after initial contact.
The only evidence from anyone that BBK is good is that he has a lot of tackles.
The other piece that I think is difficult for people is the fact that he plays well against half our schedule: Rutgers, Montana, Fresno State, Oregon State, Cal and WSU are all opponents where BBK looks good. And then to a lesser extent vs. Oregon, ASU and UCLA and not at all vs. Stanford.
Again - this highlights the problem with a lot of these 'Sark level' players. They are fine against shitty teams, but against good teams they are not good enough. They essentially play to their talent level (which is fine).
My problem with BBK is that:
a) by virtue of being white, undersized and under-recruited he is automatically loved by fans (this is a typical pattern and I can cite many examples of this, but it should be obvious because most people here are smart enough to see obvious things) and consequently overrated - this allows for the times he looked good to loom large in people's heads rather than all the times where he DIDN'T do anything or got shoved out of the way...
b) his play is noticeable and in the flow of the game because he does have a high motor, and he appears to be doing a lot - it's only on second watching (that is, if you are not skeptical to him in the first place) that you see him getting pushed back routinely, not getting off blocks, being generally ineffective (though productive), and...
c) When we play teams like Stanford, they just attack him (they did a great job as just attacking our weaknesses like Bryant as well)...
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM BEING LIGHTLY RECRUITED. Azeem and Keishawn were just as lightly recruited. I love Tevis and Tevis was heavily recruited.
I just like guys who are talented because irrespective of what the average light beer swilling, fat, dumb, white fan thinks - it's the talented guys who win championships and play beautifully.
BBK is the undersized, 'high-motor' white guy that white guys love to love. -
BUCK and LBs have been solid. D line and secondary have been elite. Not a knock on any of those guys players like BBK and Psalm wouldn't start for the majority of Pac 12 teams let alone the upper echelon of teams contending for a spot in the playoffs. Other than Shaq I think Littleton has been our best LB under Pete and I agree that Feeney played out of position(he also played as a true freshman, which he shouldn't have, because fuck Sark).AtomicDawg said:
