Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
So;
Assuming the 2 big favorites (Clemson and OU) win next week, they will be 1 and 2. If Wisconsin wins, they will be 3, and UGA/Auburn winner is 4. If Wisconsin loses, UGA/Auburn winner is #3. That means that the 4th spot is between Ohio State/Bama. I think it's very probable Bama gets left out in this scenario. I think they're better than Ohio State, but not sure the committee wants to set a precedent of allowing in a non-conference champ for the 2nd bid from a conference over a team that did win their conference.

You're right that they could be up against Ohio State for the last spot if the Buckeyes win.
Nuff said on that
You gonna put in a 11-2 TCU team in over 11-1 Alabama?
to be out. Would get movement towards an 8 team
playoff like it should be. 8 teams, 5 conference champs,
3 wildcards, perfect.
will value conference champs. Otherwise they delegitimize
the whole process.
That said, I don't have a yuge problem with one loss teams beating out two loss teams like TOSU.
I didn't see this question asked about any other 1-loss team.
