Vol fans convinced Petersen is heading to Tennessee

Yep. Tennessee, like us, is/was a coach away. The end. Coaching is everything.dnc said:
You doogs sound just like every idiot who said UW couldn't hire a great coach in 2004/07/08/14.Edwin_Bambino said:When you need to point out revenue your football team pulls as an area you beat us in and that’s it you’ve already lost. That revenue has really helped your program be good the last 15 years!
Tennessee's revenue means they have deep pockets. They aren't taking our? coach because we're both tier 2 programs. But UT is a legit Tier 2 program.
The only difference between us and them is we have a coach. -

Senior MemberI’m still holding out hope it’s Petersen. He/his reps reached out to UT few weeks ago. John Currie met with his people earlier this week.

Yes he wants out at Washington. There has been some dissension between he and the AD. He’s complained about lack of passion there and comittment to football. He has stated his complaints about be the late games no one gets to see. He’s not happy i personally believe he’s interested and I’m hopinh he’s the guy!

If only that idiot knew that the game scheduling was a Pac 12 issue and has nothing to do with the UW AD. But he is a dumb hick so I guess I shouldn’t expect more from him. -
Maybe it's just my love for TN or maybe it's just the steroids, but I'm about ready to drive from Jacksonville FL to Washington and beat that one posters ass, Balls Deep (so many jokes from his name alone). I started to register but I had to talk myself down. I didn't want to embarrass y'all.
I was about to say....that is the angriest bunch of fans, especially after having just beat their rival. If we had beaten Florida or Bama I wouldnt let anything get me down the whole week. As for Ballz Deep, it sounds like he hasnt earned his screen name for a few months....if ever. Thus why hes grumpy. Hopefully a nice guy comes along soon for his sake. Anger like that can cause ulcers and other major health problems.

They play in an inferior conference that hasn’t been legit since it was the pac 10. They peaked when they reached the playoffs and seem to choke away a couple of games every years before that and now after.
That doesn’t mean they aren’t a great football team and I would gladly trade our past 5 years with theirs, but I would still say our program is better than theirs. These guys are all Seattle Seahawks fans that you couldn’t find 6 or 7 years ago outside of the state of Washington. -

I'm going to first go out on a limb and say you're either in your early 20s or just poorly educated based off your choice of grammar and your lack of knowledge in general.
Tennessee went 13-0 and beat FSU for the first BCS title in 98, the year after Manning with a QB named Tee Martin. Tennessee is also the 2nd most profitable program in the country only behind Texas due in large part to it being a national brand unlike Washington in which is a regional brand. Tennessee, Knoxville in general is one of the fastest growing regions in the country. Tennessee is a wonderful place to live and I hate to tell you but Chris Petersen does have ties here.
Like it our not, Currie was in Seattle last Tuesday and he was not at UTs game vs Vandy last night. Currie was in Seattle again yesterday and is set to return sometime this morning. Chris Petersen will be announced as the new coach at UT this afternoon.
But I wish you all the best, do yourself a favor and work on cleaning up your language and personal attacks it makes you look so small. -

Just so you guys know, not all Vol fans are as delusional as VN rep. The AD has made it clear that they're not going to be completely obvious with whom they hire and how they go about the interviews (like going to Seattle for Petersen, which would be incredibly obvious). I personally think we end up with an up-and-comer like Scott Frost, Mike Norvell, Neal Brown, Chad Morris, etc.
I haven't seen Petersen's full contract, but isn't his buyout in the 25 mil range? That to me should be a big enough indicator that he's not going anywhere. It's like the A&M fans who think Jimbo (30+ mil buyout) is a realistic option. Delusional fans won't care about realistic things like buyouts. They just want a "home run" hire like Gruden, Patterson, Fisher or Petersen. So you guys are just going to have to endure our more outspoken fans. They're usually not the smartest ones.
And VN rep, no one needs a history lesson on this board. Tennessee is at a HISTORIC all-time low. Washington fans can talk all the shit they want - they are relevant and they have an ace head coach. They can talk shit because they can actually back it up on the field, while we cannot. This is the only time Tennessee has gone winless in the SEC, besides when we couldn't field a team due to WW2. So again, a historic all-time low. Sometimes it's best to just bite your tongue. -
You know what we? also have? An ace offensive coordinator.RockyBottom said:Just so you guys know, not all Vol fans are as delusional as VN rep. Jonathan Smith would find much great success as a head coach. We would hate to lose him, but your AD should be taking a good look at him.
He's a hungry young coach. The sky is the limit. -
