    The Kurds didn't do shit for us in GW1. The Shia Arabs in the south kind of did, and we let Saddam murderize them. You can thank Schwartzkopf and Big Dick Cheney for that one.

    Lotta people died to make Iraq a nominal US ally. So we should just piss that away for Kurdish independence? And that is completely ignoring the Turks.

    We'd be better off working to ensure greater autonomy for the Kurds within Iraq. They could keep building their successful economy, undermining Turkish dickheads who call Jurds "mountain Turks," and being a wedge between Shia Iraq and Shia Iran.

    Tibet and women's rights are red herrings... The kurds have not decided what to do about their homeland proper.
