Roof has already put in a crystal ball to UW for Martin
Nice counterbalance to the five USC ones.
Obviously its just Roof, but keep in mind those 5 USC ones were prior to the UW offer. Maybe he sees that he only needs to beat out a 6'0" Walk-On for a starting spot.
Man, getting kids to buy into winning as a team is still harder than it looks I guess. Even with Washington's recent success and Petersen's long history of same.

To tell you the truth the message "Come here if you want to win" resonates with kids in about 3 programs: Bama, Clemson, and OSU. Until you are a big time consistent winner over a number of years, that is not currently a sales pitch that will work at UW. Put together 3 or 4 more seasons like the last two then you got something. Those above three programs can sell "win it all with us". We're not there yet.

yes.
It seems like 4 factors drive recruiting more than anything else. -location (see texas and USC) -flash (this is how used car salesmen like taggart are able to succeed) -winning (we're getting there, but not there yet in terms of reputation) -academis (fuck Stanford)
the kids we get seem to be very similar in that they're looking for a solid combination of those things. but where the struggles come from is that UW is not elite in any of those categories.
Chance to get to the nfl may factor a bit, but teams who have Terrible records of doing that are still big time draws so who knows

Brand and Salesmen.
Winning contributes to branding, payments and sleaziness contribute to salesmanship.
He has a bunch of cbs to USC but right now 247 says Oklahoma and A&M are leading. Hat on the table for him will be special. Did USC cool on him?
The 247 thing where it says warm/warmer can be a joke. A&M will be interesting with Jimbo now, He's USCs until he isn't probably. I think we have a small chance with him.
