I hope he sucks wherever he goes. Tired of this shit.
He’s coming here so fuck off
I wanna Doog so bad. I’m not as confident as you, but I know it’s gonna be hard for him to leave. Most the intel is bullshit. He’s not going to Oregon. He’s going to UW or Ohio State.
I thought this until about a month ago. The Oregon coaching staff has made a ton of progress on JTT. If it’s not Ohio State, I’m thinking it’s Oregon. Oregon is getting commits while the land around them is burning to the ground. They just work harder.
The Washington staff is still trying to plan visits for 2021 at this point. In the meantime the Oregon staff is like “What Covid”?
Agree about your overall point. Oregon definitely cares the most about winning than any other PAC 12 school. JTT isn’t going there tho. It’s Ohio State or UW. No chance he goes to Oregon.
If he is enamored by player development and actually playing for a natty, Ohio State is where he is going. If he wants to stay close, he’s going to UW. Our recent DL play has been better than Oregon’s, Malloe and the Samoan factor, it’s closer, and there is nothing but quook hope to believe Oregon is a serious contender.
I know you’re an educated, smart fan, but he’s not going to Oregon. If it’s not Ohio State, it’s UW. No chance he plays for any PAC 12 school but UW.
Quook hope might be dismissive. He would all but guarantee Oregon a top 3 recruiting class and be the 3rd class in a row that’s top top 10. Oregon is going to have the biggest talent differential between the 1st and 2nd team in any league in a couple season. You have to see this.
Also, DL has fallen off at UW. With both Levi O and Tryon opting out, you better hope that blue chip talent shows up this season. Oregon is going to bring it at DL.
Tryon never really did anything here.
Who do you like on your DL + rush end? This is a genuine question. It’s seems like JAGS and some unproven blue chip players. I always thought Taimani would be good but he didn’t do anything that blew me away. Latu seems like he will always be a run stopper.
Brandon Dorlus was making plays in the back field against Utah and Wisconsin. Apparently Oregon hit a home run with Jaylen Smith. Oregon has some really good depth at DL right now. I think it should be the most improved unit. I like the unit even if Scott doesn’t return.
Holy quook
Taimani, Tuli, Latu, Bandes, Tuitele, Smalls. All were highly recruited, high school all Americans. I think we'll be ok.
Right. Is one of them not unproven though? There was a clear path to playing time last year too.
Take your lumps and move on. I'll argue that in general, Oregon and Washington have been nip and tuck in recruiting. However, the one position group where Oregon hasn't been close is the DT position. It's about as far off as Oregon's lead in the linebacker room.
I am not arguing that UW hasn’t recruited DL better. I am arguing that the upperclassmen for UW are JAGs the blue chip underclassmen haven’t popped. Next year Oregon has more proven DL and depth.
Oregon has far more talent on the edge, but in the trenches, Washington outclasses Oregon. It isn't close.
At least act like you know the players or speak to something about the two units. Bronson was a total Jag and started for UW. They also played a shallow rotation last year, so there were snaps to be had from the young blue chip talent but either the coaches failed or they need more development.
Apparently Tuli graded better than I thought. I know Oregon will have two true seniors and two players pushing them. Tuli has to become exceptional for me to put UW ahead of Oregon.
Pete didn't trust underclassmen. Puka was a perfect example. Probably the best WR on the team last year as a freshman, and didn't get much playing time until the end of the season.
The facts still remains the same. Their entire two deep on the interior is really young. The class distribution is terrible. There is no returning star. A 76 PFF score really doesn’t mean Tuli will be exceptional. Both our seniors DT graded higher at that age. There’s no depth.
Oregon’s DTs will take a big leap forward. They went from a static 2 gap scheme to a one gap scheme with a lot stemming. They will be the biggest benefactor from year two. Likewise, players like Dorlus and Aumavae really started jumping gaps and penetrating late in the season.
So your rising seniors graded out worse than Tuli did as a freshman?
I can see why you’re so optimistic.
It's 1) depth 2) rising stars and 3) scheme continuity.
As far as JTT goes, I see a scheme that will highlight his athleticism at Oregon. They're going to sell him on the iron sharpens iron concept and that Thibideaux's mercurial rise was in large part going against an Outland trophy winner. We'll see.
I hope he sucks wherever he goes. Tired of this shit.

Interior DL isn’t a problem at UW. Bronson is a late round/free agent type guy. He’s not horrible. He’s 5 years older than the highly touted young guys. If all the guys that redshirted last year don’t do anything, you might have a point.

It will be interesting going forward.
I honestly don’t know enough about Oregon to have an educated opinion. All that long, fast, quick twitch stuff is bullshit tho. Kim used to tout that bullshit when Sark was coach. Everyone was always “long.” It’s like Jay Bills talking about a small forward’s wingspan. Most the time it’s just fluff, bullshit. Every NBA draft he talks about how long a guy that is already 6’9” is. Yeah the guy with a 7’2” wingspan is a better pick than the guy with a 6’11” guy that is a better shooter, ball handler, and gives better effort.
Personally I think you need a couple 300+ pound great players on the DL and the rest need to be fast and physical. We had posters here whining about BBK that couldn’t understand that a white, undersized guy that made every tackle was actually good. And they will jack off over a LB’s size even tho the 245 pound LB can’t cover anyone.
Either players are good or they aren’t. Recruiting for body types in CFB is mostly stupid. College football is a lot less scheme specific and body type guys than the NFL because you have more scholarships and no salary cap. Oregon and UW should take any talented guy they can get. Neither are Bama or LSU. UW has gotten worse getting better recruits because a lot of the high 3 star and low 4 star guys are shit. I’m rambling but my basic point is stars and size both matter, but if you aren’t at the top, you’ll always fail going by star ratings and size.
The topic that isn’t talked about enough is that these coaches do care about the hype about where they finish in recruiting rankings. Petersen liked yo pretend he didn’t care but when talking about Nick Harris his freshman year, he wondered what he was missing.
I hope he sucks wherever he goes. Tired of this shit.

Interior DL isn’t a problem at UW. Bronson is a late round/free agent type guy. He’s not horrible. He’s 5 years older than the highly touted young guys. If all the guys that redshirted last year don’t do anything, you might have a point.
I don’t think interior DL is a problem for UW. I took issue with the idea that it’s loads better than Oregon.
I also like the direction Oregon is going with interior DL. It’s long fast twitched athletes. They are getting 2-4 a cycle and see what’s sticks. I see like 7 total for UW on the roster and Oregon sits at like 10.
It will be interesting going forward.
I’ll make a new post for this. What I think Oregon and Cristobal are doing well is focusing on the OL. It’s so easy to bully teams in the PAC 12 with a good OL. You had the best OL in the PAC 12 last year, rather easily. Stanford used to beat your good teams because their OL was so physical and set a tone. The PAC 12 is so finesse that a good OL almost guarantees success.
There can be all the new, hot schemes in the world but the game is the same. You win at the lines and have a competent QB, and you’re going to win. I think it’s especially true on offense.
Defense is harder because you do have to cover, but Oregon has good DB’s and it’s a school good DB types will want to go to. Honestly, I won’t be shocked if Oregon takes off. I initially thought Cristobal was going to suck but he’s doing things well and seems like a good coach for you guys.
Back to JTT, he’s not going anywhere but UW or Ohio State. He doesn’t want to be an enemy of the state. It would take balls and poor judgment to go to Oregon. He can either go to the better program which is Ohio State or appease his family and stay home which is UW. I know a Quook might think he gets the best of both worlds by going to Oregon, but that’s stupid. He’s either staying home or playing for a football factory. You don’t have the recent history for him to believe Oregon is the best spot because UW has more recent success with DT’s and was the better program before last year.
Oregon is the better spot for him because he would have Flowe and Sewell behind him and edge players that are sack machines. You’re overthinking this.
Also, I am sure he loves the redshirting plan and we don’t trust freshman philosophy. Herbert, Sewell and in 2021 Thibodeaux will all be top 10 picks while never redshirting. Cristobal will show the blueprint for graduating in 3 and off to the NFL as a top 10 pick.

You're more of an idiot than I thought if you think UW is going to redshirt JTT
Bandes and Tuitelle redshirted and both were top 5 DL, so JTT redshirting could happen. Maybe with the new staff that will change.
It would be totally against the grain. Of all the DL in 2019 between the two programs, it was Dorlus that didn’t redshirt. Now there’s talk of Jaylen Smith not redshirting. Also, while the DL got their shit pushed in late in games last year, they couldn’t figure out a way to rotate in a Bandes, Tuitele or Ngalu?

JTT is a prime example of there being no need to redshirt because he’s probably playing 3 years and at most 4 before he’s off to the NFL. I don’t know how you even came up with this argument.

There’s a culture of that at Oregon. If you’re good enough to contribute than you contribute.

We'll see.

Also, there's a new HC.
JTT is not redshirting at UW.
Unless you're Oregon
