From 10.21.13 (Could ASU be a seminal loss?) “I think there are some things that can get fixed and fixed quickly coming out of this game. They’ve been addressed as a staff and they’ve been addressed with our football team. So that’s first. There are those things. There are some bigger things that can come out of this. Somewhere in here, this piece of the season, this portion of the season, granted we’ve played good teams, this portion of the season here has caused us issues for five consecutive years. And so when we hit the offseason, I keep a running log of notes and things so that when January comes around, as a staff there are things we need to address of things that came up throughout the season, and this is definitely going to be one of them. This isn’t going to go away. We’re going to play Stanford and Oregon every year. If we have to play them back to back every year, so be it. It’s that next game after those hard-fought, emotional battles, how we deal with it. Obviously we haven’t dealt with them well enough yet up to this point, so back to the drawing board. Those talks have to take place in January and have to get worked through in January. We can’t wait until the week of the ballgame.”
"it's important for me as a first-year head coach knowing that I know what is going on on that side of the ball. I trust Nick with everything he is doing."
11.15.13 (Is ‘the next step’ still attainable?) “Without a doubt. We’ll go play good football the last two games. We’ll see if that’s good enough to win. I can’t guarantee victories, but I do know that this team will get up off the mat.
Talk about instilling confidence in your team, shit howdy!
Something to the effect of "I've never been congratulated so much for losing a game before."
Yup. I have been searching for this quote. It was right after the '09 LSU game. He was talking about fellow UW Faculty members congratulating him on the loss. A perfect example of the current mindframe at UW. I bet 7WS thought, 'I have it made in the shade. The expectations are so low around here, I can do no wrong.' And here we are.
"In my office I have a photo of Coach James shaking my hand at the Holiday Bowl. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't look at that photo and think about how I can install the same principles into my team that he did for his."
It was 2009 or 2010 at Husky when 7WS was talking about how cool Chip Kelly is and how they are friends. Chip says in his presser UW is sloppy on special teams and on Saturday the Ducks block a punt for a TD and blow the game wide open. It was the classic case of a professional against a guy that wants to be cool with everybody.
I really love how he throws in "We're a good football team" every time UW is losing at the half when he knows he is like 3-25 when losing at the half.
I'm hearing that the Seattle Times has an excellent search function.
Id prefer to have them in short order rather than spend hours researching ya stupid fuck. "Incremental progress" is a lot more rewarding than actually having a 5-year plan and being held accountable.
"We were a lot better football team than we played. We are a good football team. We'll rebound from this and this won't happen again"- Generic quote after every plunger raping on the road.
Comments
"I regret to inform you all that I will be leaving to University of Washington to pursue (insert what the fuck ever here)"
Just sayin

Lol yeah that worked out well...

Washington, to play in games like this".
Last year, on the eve of the Las Vegas bowl.
