Dick Baird used to jo over this kid EVERY year. God it got old.whuggy said:
Yep. Donny Mateaki another.TTJ said:Benning reminds me a lot of Everette Thompson: Big time talent who realized only a fraction of his potential. Neither quite developed the quickness and moves to be great on the edge; never quite developed the bulk and strength to be great inside.
In Thompson's case, I think injuries were a factor. -
It takes time to develop. Maybe he will be good next year.

Tweeners who've worked out: David Richie, Daniel Te'o Nesheim, Jaylen Johnson. Full stop.whuggy said:Yep. Donny Mateaki another.

Tweeners are a thing of the past, to some extent. Coaches have gotten better at using versatile players. I think Potoa'e will be a 3-tech next year. He might play on the edge some, when they use the 3 down linemen and just one stand-up OLB, but I think he'll play more and more inside.

There are lots of other "tweeners" who have been successful at UW.TTJ said:

For example, Kikaha was a 6'2" 230 pound kid with a big frame who was recruited as a DE. He was on the small side to be a DL, but didn't have the physical attributes to be a traditional LB either.
The whole BUCK position is basically designed for tweeners. -

Might as well cancel the 2018 and 2019 seasonsCokeGreaterThanPepsi said: -
I am hearing Tremblay wants to be injured so he can focus on schoolCokeGreaterThanPepsi said: -
You’re talking about DE/OLB tweeners. I’m talking about DT/DE tweeners.AIRWOLF said:

Like Solomon Thomas? Yeah that guy was fucking useless. Too bad he declared early and was drafted #3, would have liked to see him start at Stanford indefinitely.TTJ said:
