As far as just a pure blues player Peter Green before he burned himself out was on another level.

Jimmy Page shaped modern rock guitar. How one man could come up with so many riffs and modes is mind blowing. Just about everything you hear post Zeppelin has something stolen from him. His studio work before Zeppelin was pretty awesome too. His work on Hurdy Gurdy Man is a prime example.
