    Reno sucks. HTH

I'll say it again, Reno is not your 1950's Reno. It's not even your 2009 Reno. Your stereotypes of Reno are older than the internet and it's fuckin' stupid. Reno has changed a ton and it's the shit, for a variety of reasons (outdoor rec paradise #1, but you guys don't leave your toolshed, so not sure that's a selling point). Sure there's some scuzz afoot, but is there not scuzz in every city? It adds character. If your idea of Reno is downtown by "The Row" and 4th Street, and the people there, who are actually just vacationing from Stockton, you live in a cave. Fuck

Someones been watching to many reno-tahoe commercials. They aren't the same place, no matter how much Reno wants you to believe they are.

Reno's outdoor mecca location, crammed up against the Sierras and 30 minutes from Tahoe and Pyramid, is a huge part of its appeal. It takes longer to drive from one end of Seattle to the other. I'm not sure why Reno's location would be dismissed as a selling point. It's THE selling point for young, strong, sexy, adventurous folk like myself.

Seattle outdoor rec shits on Reno outdoor rec. It's actually not really close. Seattle hiking is better, the summer is nicer, and in the winter the skiing is great and only slightly worse than Reno. Crystal and Baker can go toe to toe with anywhere.

    Someone lives in Reno.
And therefore I am a much more reputable source vs. the guy who flies in, drives up the Wells strip mall to spend two nights at the El Dorado getting shitfaced and pretends to know Reno. I spent 21 years in Seattle, 8 in Bellingham, and now 3 in Reno. I've traveled everywhere in the West and I know what's good and what isn't. Bakersville is trash. Fresno is trash. Spokane is trash. Stockton is trash. Reno is not.

Reno is great besides the trashy parts just like Seattle is great besides the trashy parts. There's a reason Reno's population and housing prices are booming and it's because your 1950s "casinos, booze, prostitution, mining" stereotypes are getting shattered. The secret's out.
    Big whoop.

    3 whole years.

    Wow.

Ashamed to admit it, but you're gonna need to double that tenure to come at me bruh. Quadruple it if you want to count property ownership.

It's the fucking dumpiest dump in the land. Worst school system in the nation and it's not close. Video poker, addicts and panhandlers everywhere.

The only nice communities a worthy wife will deal with... are behind locked gates in the eastern Sierras or on the golf courses.

See ya in your dump this fall. Joint Fisheries and Wildlife society in September. I'd say come say hi but we will be staying in S Lake.

I did keep the vanity plate from the shop car. But still, fuck your state @CallMeBigErn.

I lived just outside and worked in Reno for 5 years. Weird fucking place.

I feel bad for anyone having to grow up in the land of wild-west prostitution, gambling, booze, and mining. I'm not surprised he is confused.

Reno is a shithole. The people are disgusting.

    The take is retarded.

Lake Tahoo >> any lake within 6 hours of Seattle.

Skiing/Boardig in the Reno/Tahoo area is better than anything within 3 hours of Seattle.

Rock climbing in the Reno/Tahoo/Trukee/Yosemite area is better than anything within 4 hours of Seattle.

Hiking in the Sierra Nevadas is way cooler than in the Cascades.

People from the Seattle area move to the Tahoo/Reno/Trukee/Yosemite area for the outdoor life there. Not the other way around.

This is horse shit. All of it. Tahoe is cool but there are a million cool lakes in this region. The Cascades are better and have actual fucking volcanoes, lots of them. The North Cascades is where serious outdoorsmen go. The Olympic Mountains and rainforest is unlike any place else on earth. The hunting is better up here. So is the fishing.

Like I said, you might have an argument on winter sports, but Seattle aint far from Whistler.

There is a reason REI, Outdoor Research, Columbia, Arc'Teryx, and Eddie Bauer were founded and are headquartered here.

    Reno has...shittier casinos than Vegas?

There are no lakes in the region as cool as Tahoo.

There is no rock climbing (summer sport) like there is in the Reno/Trukee/Tahoo/Yosemite area.

Yeah, Valcanos are cool, and I've climbed all of them -- but it isn't like you get to peer down into a lava pit or anything.

The snow weight is better in the Sierra Nevada mountains for skiing/boarding -- and yes better than Whistler too.

And LOL at including Eddie Baur in a conversation about outdoor gear... I know all I need to know about you now.
