and lol about his cabinet being more qualified than Obama's. is that a joke? did you listen to the confirmation hearings?
The only thing listening to confirmation hearings does is shine a light on how big a morons much of the Congress is. Listening to a few minutes of Franken or Warren and one should be concerned as to how mentally stable some those idiots really are.
Have Trump's cabinet throw 3 countries into Civil War and then bitch about how unqualified they are.
True dat. Not to mention Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.
That being said, the secretary of education should know the difference between proficiency and growth, among other issues. And should be prepped for questions like that prior to the confirmation hearing.
The comedy with her was listening to Cory Booker bash her after he, when mayor, worked with and sung her praises over and over for helping set up and develop charter schools in his city since the schools there were such a mess.
cory booker is my least favorite democrat. opportunist cunt.
Betsy Devos is a clown.
As a comparison, the last guy played basketball in Australia for a couple years, worked at a small nonprofit for a couple years, an elementary school in Chicago for a couple years until it closed, was an assistant to the "Chicago Schools CEO" for a couple of years, and then was "CEO" of the Chicago Schools (you know, the "high performing" school system the entire country should emulate???) for 7 years. Relatively speaking, any sane, competent person would hire her in a second over him.
And 2 pages from my original question...this thread started with the claim 3 people had resigned in 3 weeks due to "ties with Russia"...with the only one I was aware of was Flynn who resigned because he lied to Pence. Who again were the other "two"?
Upon further review. Are you talking about Phil Rosenfeld, who was acting secretary? WTF?
Arne Duncan, but thanks for giving us another example of your Internet sleuthing skillz.
Da fuq? There was two other secretaries after him.
But the issue with Devos is less about her background. And more about how unprepared she was for the confirmation hearing.
He was the initial Obama nominee and there for 6+ years (until the teachers Union forced him out), but other than that I'm not sure why anyone would think to compare him to DeVos...
You said the previous person. My point still stands, if he wasn't qualified, why didn't Republicans throw a fit about it?
Arne Duncan Guess who said this about Duncan during his 2009 confirmation hearing: "President-elect Obama has made several distinguished cabinet appointments, but in my view of it all, you're the best."
If you guessed Sen. Alexander, who later became one of Duncan's biggest critics, congratulations. And t hat pretty much sums up Duncan's smooth confirmation process. He got the Senate's approval through a voice vote.
Republican Sens. Mike Enzi of Wyoming and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma also had kind things to say about Duncan during his confirmation process. And Duncan, in turn, praised his predecessor Spellings' work on the Teacher Incentive Fund.
Thanks for proving my point...it's a double standard. Republicans let him slide, yet Dems were up in arms over her, even though she is a heck of a lot more qualified than he was. One of Pocahontas's gotcha questions was 'have you ever run a trillion dollar bank?' What kind of FS question is that, and if that is now the standard how the hell was the CEO of a horrible city school district ever qualified to be the previous Sec of Ed?
Carry on now...
It couldn't have anything to do with how he prepared for the hearing? Since when did background and qualifications matter to Republicans?
There's a very easy quick reply to Warren's question. If Devos can't answer that question properly, she's not qualified for the job.

Sounds like Republicans had a shitty vetting process. They were too busy searching for a birth certificate.
The only vetting I endorse is extreeeeeeme!!!! vetting.

manafort was one of them. this was his defense to reports of him today being in contact with russian intel prior to the election.
Edit: I'm not aware of why he was fired/resigned tho
I figured that was one of the fake claims...if you noticed Ukraine shut up about all of that after the election, and as the Politico (one of all places...) found out the claims were likely forged by Ukrainian govt officials to impact our election, and it did impact the election because it forced the resignation of Manaford. You know...the thing all the Hillary supporters said they were worried about with foreign interests influencing our elections but ignore/don't believe because it ruins their narrative.
People talk about fake news and throw this shit out? Probably one of the biggest instances of "Fake News" the entire election cycle...and the funny thing is it may have helped Trump in the end because it resulted in Conway being put in charge.
So were there 2 others forced out in the first 3 weeks or was this entire thread started with a lie?
Is your google broken?
Floyd, Manafort, Page.
I didn't say they all happened in the first 3 weeks, I said it's only been 3 weeks of his presidency and he's already had to patsy 3 members of his team due to Russian ties.
How much more do you need to start questioning the dear leader???
Like I said...this was a thread started on lies.
Manaford resigned in Aug of last year as Trumps campaign manager due to links to Russia that were later found out to be Ukrainian lies (...add to that a Ukrainian intelligence OFFICER working for the DNC...)
Not familiar with Page, but do know whatever happened with Page happened in the middle of last year.
And Flynn, who was fired for lying to Pence about whatever conversation he had.
If only Trump could take hundreds of millions from multiple countries and call it charity, only to see all of those donations dry up when he didn't win. Or get paid millions by a bank directly tied to Putin for an hour or two in "speeches". Or call it a "reset" instead of having a 'good relationship', and then send Tillerson over with a stupid button and follow soon-after himself. Or ridicule anyone who now criticizes him on Russia on having their dad's outdated foreign policy in a public debate. Or airlift a couple billion in cash to Russia as part of a secret agreement and call it "improved relations."
Flynn had his issues, but the one thing he wanted to do is publish all of the secret details of that Iranian agreement, and I hope to God it still happens. And don't be naive enough to think that doesn't scare a lot of people.
Carry on with the thread... I'm out. Figured it was based on a lie but just wanted to confirm.
So 3 people didn't resign? And it's not week 3?
Is that what you're saying?
I'll give you some time.
That's some interesting maff. If we're counting pre-election staff resignings then the timeline should start when Trump joined the campaign. If we're counting from the inauguration then we should count the resignations in those three weeks.
You're better than that.
My point was never about the timeline. Houston is being a retard about semantics because he can't defend the actual POONT; 3 members of team Trump have resigned because of Russian ties. Does saying it started last spring make that better somehow?
