I have actually had conversations about this. A big football player could knock out of a 5'7" 150 pound drunk dude and would probably get minimal backlash. If that little guy used a racial slur, a large portion of people would say he deserved it.

Who says she got a protective bubble? I don't see anything to suggest that a 150 lb man suffering the same fate as her would have led to any different of a legal outcome.
