Lane Kiffin was ousted long before the playoffs, that was quite clear from the never ending 'ass chewings' Nick Saban has delivered to football's most hated coach. The question remained would Kiffin buddy, Steve Sarkisian take over as OC for the playoffs? insiders to the Bama nation would be flabbergasted if this were to happen.
Don't expect even Sarkisian to stay through the playoffs? His short stint at Bama has been anything but party time for the troubled Sarkisian. I know some of you are yelling, “This is why he brought Sark in.” Well, no.
The Kiffin - Sarkisian-Alabama marriage is not a lovely and filled with unicorns and rainbows as everyone most the media has reported. Are there any major issues? No, but it's quite clear Saban's rehab for fired USC coaches has run it's course. Simply put, Saban doesn't want them around anymore. At Alabama, what Nick Saban wants, Nick Saban gets.
I see Sarkisian following Kiffin, it is really his only options. Not many schools are interested in a coach with the baggage Sarkisian is towing. Following Kiffin would be a only resort for Sarkisian: It’s not really a great look if Lane Kiffin is the only reason you continue to have gainful employment. Not a great look at all.
