It's 95% on but if it's falls through I'll be eating crow for awhile. This is not a joke. Stay tuned on the forums or twitter for an announcement! Have a great day everybody's GO DUCKS

BLUR EDIT: looks like we have news from someone more reputable than I. From Hopkins over at duckterritory: 1 hr ago

"I think once this is done, the timeline of events and why will be made clear. This was set to be done Sunday."

"I'm going to assume there is a respect level for things going on in this world outside of football. So I'm going to wager this is all wrapped up Wednesday"

BLUR EDIT #2: new article and statement from Justin Hopkins at duckterritory: 100mins ago "I planted my flag. Ride or die, I'm going down with Chip. I think it's done tomorrow."

If Chip can get his garaunteed $ or work out a Oregon buyout he would be crazy not to leave for Oregon. Or even if Oregon just pays him a shit ton, maybe they saw the sinking ship and threw the kitchen sink at him.

jay glazer reporting chipper will be in SF next year, irregardless of what happens this year, its a mute point.

“He is not going to Oregon and regardless of what happens down the stretch here, Chip Kelly will be the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers next year,” Glazer said.

    congrats on willie taggart, ducks.

FWIW Chip also said he had no interest in the NFL and then boom there he is as the head coach of the Eagles.

i get it, and frankly, id say the same, i have no interest in the nfl, saban did it with bama (bama a better job than the fins regardless).

chip was never going to make eugene the next bama, texas, or who the fuck ever, eugene may as well be on mars when it comes to the sports world, nobody outside of oregon gives a fuck.

chip has an ego, not the biggest ego ever, but wants to be the master of his craft, he was never going to do that in eugene. it was "super cool" how oregon came with flashy uniforms to match his innovative offense but it was never going to last.

chip's ego is too big to waddle back to eugene, everyone on this board would call him a loser and he'd know he'd be a loser. you're fuckin a fat chick for years, you get to step up to a solid 8, the 8 shuns you, and you go back to fuckin fat chicks? lmao, get fucked, i welcome him to do that.

its taggart and i have no fucking clue why but fuck oregon.

I think Oregon was better off keeping slingblade that going with Taggart.

The parallels are stunning. Get best coach in program history, unparalleled success, NCAA sanctions, gone no warning.

Hire underling to keep the mojo, kind of works for a minute, but once recruited talent graduates and no leaders emerge, wheels fall off.

Now, we've hire the New Ty who really isn't any different from the Old Guy (Helfrich) in terms of being an offensive-minded coach with terrible defenses.

I'm not saying this is true YET, since neither USF nor UO have announced the hire. But if so, we are probably going to continue to suck for the foreseeable future. I'm not sold on Taggart AT ALL.

He turned around two completely shitty programs in WKU and USF, but Oregon isn't a dearth of talent right now so not sure how that would translate.

It's not a sizzle hire, but neither was Altman. In hindsight, it probably would have been worth another year of Helfrich to see who became available next season.

No it is always better to get rid of your coach as soon as you know he is not the guy.

There is so much variance in hiring head coaches. Rarely does any program have the opportunity to hire a coach like CP who had already established himself against top competition.

You have to roll the dice. And your best chance to hit the point is to roll as frequently as possible.
