I actually played a nice round of golf at Jefferson Park that day then settled in to watch it on TV with Keith Jackson doing the play by play
I remember waking up that fine Saturday morning nervous as hell. Read every line of the PI sports page about the game, watched foosball all day but couldn't get into any of it, then saw Jay Barry run all over the Nebraska classy defense whilst @billyjoecamaro grew up before our very eyes. 'Twas glorious.
Remember watching it on rabbit ears with shit reception in Tacoma. Recall feeling confident, even after the fumbled punt, that the dawgs were still okay and would respond and finish strong.
Remember when come-from-behind victories in big games were so common we expected it?
Remember when UW coaches fixed things at halftime and UW played better in second halves?
Like it matters. I particularly recall the 24 seconds (or so) it took him to rumble that 80 yards, and my amazement that no cornhusker could catch him.
