Moving back to Seattle: what neighborhood to live in?

I grew up in Snohomish County but haven't lived in the area since I graduated from UW in 2008. I will be working downtown near Lake Union. Everything looks decidedly different than last time I scoured the area. Interested mostly in being able to walk to work/less-than-10-min-drive-if-needed and bang sluts from nearby bars when I'm not working. Walking distance to outdoor bball courts would be nice but pretty sure SF spoiled me in that regard.
Always liked Fremont area but what would that commute look like? Thanks bros.
