Holiday is the guy I've always thought Green was reminiscent of. Obviously I don't expect him to develop like JH did, but he's the best comp I can think of.RoadDawg55 said:Who is the last Romar player that completely sucked as a freshman and turned out to be good? Green sucked. 2 points, 1 rebound, .2 assists on a team where it shouldn't be tough to get minutes.
Even maligned guys like Dentmon, Gaddy, Andrews were better than Green as a freshman. He sucks until proven otherwise.
Justin Holliday is the only guy I can think of and Romar raved about his athleticism and defensive ability from day one.
Aa to your other question, Gant maybe? I don't remember him being anything as a frosh, not that he was ever great. -

And I'll readily admit my hope for Green is all eye test based. His numbers are terrible. But I think he's a good athlete with a decent stroke who has the makings of a good defender. Definite developmental project but I think he can get there.

Green is a serviceable athlete. He's still far from a good athlete. He's just not an obvious disaster like Dorsey.
If he doesn't drastically improve his shot, he's done. A guy that is hyped as a knock down shooter shot 27% from 3 as a freshman.
He's not a point and Thybulle has one starting spot likely locked up for the next three years.
There are a lot of variables, but I'll stick with him transferring out in the next year or two rather than him becoming a solid starter.
I'll doog out to an extent about Dickerson and Thubulle, but not Green. I saw nothing to make me think he will be actually good. -
Tuff Kid Had some family things goin on back home.
Will be a huge get for an up and coming Fresno St program -

I'm not saying Dorsey should stay, but this constant revolving door of role players is exactly why uw can't make ncaas.
Vets provide early perspective as well as a great push when the freshman wall hits. But Romar must not believe in any of that
Dorsey may have been a recruiting mistake; I don't follow TBS enough to know. I do know this: Romar's good teams had upperclassmen and strong veteran leadership. And some of those senior leaders -- Roy and Pondexter and Dentmon come to mind -- were totally different players as seniors than they were as frosh and sophs. -
Headed to Montana. Following in the footsteps of Martin Breunig
