So what you are saying is that if you can sell a shit sandwich like Wroten did versus actually selling a product by developing it and turning it into something useful, you should settle for selling the shit sandwich?

I get that there's a lot of shithead in Wroten and between everything he heard growing up, etc. he was at a point where coming into UW he believed his shit didn't stink, it showed on the court, and has followed him into his NBA career.

I get that given that circumstances, it probably made sense for him to go pro and collect whatever he could get since he wasn't prepared to put the work into getting better.

Personally, I don't identify with that line of thinking at all and firmly believe that if you have a weakness you bust your ass to turn it into a strength.

But then again, perhaps this is one of the reasons I've never been a big Wroten fan.

I find the idea that a player can "develop" in college but not when he's actually in the NBA idiotic. If Wroten wanted to/was capable of getting better he would have.

What everyone has failed to mention here is that the Knicks are acquiring Rose in his contract year.

For some odd reason many injury prone/past their prime players often put up a very good/great season during their contract year. For that reason I actually like the trade from the Knicks perspective.

Lopez is a nice player but I think KP makes him somewhat replaceable.

The problem is what if he has a big year? Then the Knicks pay him and they're stuck with his broken own ass. If they're ready to just let him walk that's fine but this is the fucking Knicks after all.

Actually developing guards is probably the one thing Romar has been excellent at. Look at the guards who have spent three or more years under Romar, almost all of them have improved drastically under his leadership (other than Gaddy).

It's possible, even likely, Wroten wouldn't have developed significantly at UW, but that's because of who Wroten is, not who the coach is.
