When Tiger was Tiger, he only had to beat Vijay, a sloppy, choking Phil, and a few over the hill guys like Freddy. He was one of the few guys who lived over 300 off the tee. Those guys rolled over at the sight of him. I said no racist crap!

The tour now are all guys who grew up with Tiger. They all hit 3 woods 300 plus now. Tiger was great, one of a kind, when he played. But way more week to week competition now.

Nope. In 1996 Faldo beat Norman for his 6th major. That era was still in power. Tiger beat them into retirement.

Then he had Els, Singh, Mickelson, who knew how to win majors and compete with Tiger. There was a dozen other guys as well.

Now there are three guys and a bunch of Euro trash. Tiger made it look easy, the great ones do. But it wasn't easy. At all

Rory will definitely get to six. Spieth is a choker but he got his 2nd major before Tiger. People forget that. Then there are the others. It looks like a deep talent pool right now. The only problem is they only play 4 majors a year so there are only so many wins to go around. It's over for Tiger. That's for damn sure, but I won't disagree that he is in another class. The kids are young, though. It will be interesting to see if a dominant golfer emerges from the field. Otherwise, why even play the games?

Jack won his first major in 1962. Tiger in 1997. They don't fall off trees. In between were a shit load of "Next Nicklaus" types that won a major or few.

As great as Tiger was he fell 4 short. He'll probably get the regular won record. 80 wins. His closest won half as many.

Participant is still better than Tiger finished.

But seriously. There a lot of good young golfers out there. Never been a better time to be the director of marketing for the PGA. I don't even play golf (mini golf legend though) and I'm excited to see if there is a legend (or two) out there, but no one has proved it yet. They are young. 2036 will be special.

Disagree. Spieth is going bald at 22. Nobody outside of golf fans are going to jock him.

Rory is from Ireland so he's irrelevant on a major scale.

Tiger made people who weren't fans tune in. Phil was the choke artist who was a "good family man." He was the guy to root for if you hated winners. Doog types love him. No current golfer will be a big as those two.
Spieth is already bigger than Phil.

Phil's a fat old lefty faggot Republican with full blown lupus and man tits. And that was back in 2004 when he was in his "prime". When Tiger's waitress obsession went public, fags flocked to Phil the wholesome family man to clean up the program, almost like a certain AD and Tyrone Willingham.

Spieth is 22 and in just over 2 seasons he already has 2 majors. If he was Tiger good, he'd already have 5. But he's not, and that's why Tiger is the standard.

He'll pass Phil's major total in the next couple of years, well before he's 30.

Best putter in the world. Maybe ever.
Not the point. I wasn't talking about their ability.

Masters is classy. There aren't fat slobs in cargo shorts with three day's worth of stubble yelling, "GET IN THE HOLE!! every time a guy putts.

    Classy = rich white guys?

Tiger lost his nuts to a putter-wielding Elin Nordegren in 2009.
Pretty sure she went after him with an iron, not a putter.

To say that Spieth's career is over because of the Masters and specifically the 12th hole is FS ... he has been struggling for the better part of the year while still putting up solid results. He put together 1 good round at the Masters and put enough band aids on his game to carry him through the next 2.5 rounds, including a H2H victory in Round 3 over Rory, before all hell broke loose. His career record at the Masters is a win and 2 seconds. His putting makes him a definite horse for the course. He will win at least 5 more majors in his career and I'd be really surprised if he didn't get to at least 4 Masters. And to also say that he has no appeal to the general public is also foolosh ...

Jason Day is not only a great player but a great story ... you could see his potential going back to 2011-2012. Really look forward to see what he has going forward.

Rory needs to dedicate himself to break into the Day/Spieth level. He has the ability but something is missing right now.

As for Tiger, he isn't getting to 18. But I also think it is premature to say that he will never win another major.

Spieth never had to play a ranked Rocco Mediate.

I'm not surprised that you are handing Spieth a moral victory. All the bull shit about his swing is bull shit. Like Tiger, he wins with his putter. His swing has never been great.

He had a fucking 5 shot lead heading into the back nine on Sunday and 3 holes and 45 minutes later had gagged 7 shots and trailed by 4. There is no spin on that - that will always leave a mark.

He'll contend and win some but not very many if any majors. His aura is dead and gone at 22. Now he looks like a jumpy little fuck who won't shut up with his caddie and pull the fucking trigger. That is only going to get worse.

Laying the sod on his penalty shot from the wrong location is a huge mental error. And he's supposed to be so smart. I mean, he's white and shit
