I'm all for principled stands, but history says this backfires on the GOP like everything else they try to do and fuck up. What I have read says this guy is as right as you would ever get out of a Democrat president. Roll the dice with what happens in the future. GOP will get fucked. They always do. Idiots.
The Democrat nominates a center right judge and the GOP is going to stonewall him so Trump or Hillary can appoint someone far more liberal.
Fucking idiots on both sides.
And idiots everywhere will tell congress to "do their job", when their job indicates that they have no obligation to confirm his nominee. EverybodyFS.
If people really think that republicans are violating their role to advise and consent on a nomination according to the constitution, they should bring a case to the supreme court.

They have no obligation to confirm any specific nominee. The whole "let the people decide so we'll just put this thing on hold for 10 months" is bullshit though. The constitution gives them the authority to reject nominees on the basis of the nominee, not to reject nominees on the basis of who nominated them.

I can't read, but I feel you made some good points here.
And also no. Bork is precedent for rejecting a nominee. He's not precedent for holding the spot hostage until a new president comes in. The Senate confirmed Kennedy after rejecting Bork.

I don't think anyone's arguing that what McDonnell and his gaggle of faggots are doing is unconstitutional. It's just bad politics symbolic of the shit that has given people like Trump so much support in the first place. Never before in our history has a nomination been stalled until a new president takes office.

Trump will be nominating the next confirmed SC Justice of the United States... just relax or you're gonna create unnecessary stress for yourself.
