How about putting some of your paycheck at Hertz aside every week instead of blowing it at the bar and spending your time commiserating about your miserable and pathetic life. Even when times are good, no one saves and everyone buys on credit. And we wonder why we are broke.

American consumers started saving more during the housing crisis and continued to do so as the country came out of the recession, but somewhere around Christmas of 2012 they said "fuck it" and went back to acting like Americans have for most of the past 30 years.
