Nick Marshall, who was a 2 year starter for Auburn, worked his way into the starting nickel corner role as a rookie last year. Albeit it was for the Jags. But there's definitely some range as far as position moving goes.

But Marshall was a CB at UGA before getting kicked off the team and nobody other than Rich Rod wanted Denard at QB. For non freak athletes the only options are TE or WR.

My guess is that the players wore some fancy Nike workout shirts that had their position somewhere on them. Kind of like the real NFL combine.
