Beast Mode, Hall of Famer or nah?

His regular season stats are borderline for a HOF case (though pretty comparable to Earl Campbell, who was obviously comparable stylistically). His playoff stats are really good. He also notoriously hated the media, who makes the selections. Is his playoff performance enough to overcome the media's hatred of him?

    If he had two more great years then yes, but he just wasn't a great player for a long enough time.

    I think no, but RB's should be judged a little differently because of their shorter careers.

    Individuals ahead of him not in HOF: Tomlinson (guaranteed 1st ballot when eligible), Edgerrin James, Frank Gore (active), Fred Taylor, AP (active), Steven Jackson, Corey Dillon, Warrick Dunn, Ricky Watters, Jamal Lewis, Thomas Jones, Tiki Barber, Eddie George, OJ Anderson, Ricky Williams, Clinton Portis, Shaun Alexander, Chris Johnson, and Ahmen Green

    Playoff Rushing Yards = 8th

    Only person ahead of him not currently in the HOF is Terrell Davis

    I'm surprised that some of the names on the list above aren't in the HOF. But it also goes to show how much work needs to be done to get into the HOF. Lynch is in the upper reaches of RBs to play the game. But he's probably just a cut below being a HOFer.

    I'd normally say that if Terrell Davis gets in, so does Marshawn. But TD has 2 rings, so it's not really a valid comparison.

    Yeah but Sanders retired somewhat voluntarily (like Lynch). Koufax retired because of his health, which is more comparable to Sayers to me. Koufax is the youngest ever inductee into the baseball HOF, Sayers is the youngest ever inductee into the NFL HOF. But I definitely agree Sanders > Sayers. Either way, Lynch isn't at that level. Sanders, Sayers and Koufax were all surefire hall of famers. Lynch is a guy who may or may not get in.
