I think you are going to see a few of those current no-name white receivers on our bench get touches next year. I think the passing game steps up through players developing chemistry with Browning and not because you have one or two guys all of a sudden develop into playmakers. A lot of those white dudes on the bench are big and could be potential match up nightmares.
If our WRs figure out how to run good routes and get open Browning will get the ball to them. See this Fred Smoot interview regarding who is the hardest guy to guard in the NFL:
Q: Which receiver you covered had the crispest routes?
Smoot: any 6 foot shifty white guy. really any shifty guy in general. it’s not the big tall guys you have to worry about, its the regular sized guy who comes up missing on you.

I think Potato will grow out of the Buck position and move into the DE spot. Don't sleep on Myles Rice at Buck either. He supposedly put on a ton of muscle during his rehab.

I do think that having Browning as the clear starter will help the WRs a lot. Last year it was an open competition up until a week before the first game.ToddTurnerLIVES said:I think you are going to see a few of those current no-name white receivers on our bench get touches next year. This year they'll be able to use the entire offseason, spring ball, and fall camp to develop chemistry together in the passing game. Couldn't do that last year.

I could see both of those things. I was just assuming that Rice would redshirt.bananasnblondes said:I think Potato will grow out of the Buck position and move into the DE spot. Don't sleep on Myles Rice at Buck either. He supposedly put on a ton of muscle during his rehab.

Regarding the WRs, John Ross could make a bigger than expected impact. Just look at how much Lockett helped the Seahawks passing game. Ross is a legit deep threat and that should open up a lot of opportunities for guys underneath including the TE's.
Not terribly concerned about the WR depth chart as long as guys get better. Ross has two more years. Pettis should improve. Lenius will get better if he roids. Maybe Renfo can breakout.
Can't afford another year of no WR development though.

Hopefully they use him correctly and don't use him as Micken's replacement and ruin him with bubble, smoke, and tunnel screens.HeretoBeatmyChest said:Regarding the WRs, John Ross could make a bigger than expected impact. With Pease being gone they probably stopped practicing getting out of bounds with authority, so that should help.H_D said:

The big difference is Lockett is an elite route runner (considered the second best route runner in the class behind Cooper) whereas John Ross is never open except deep.HeretoBeatmyChest said:Regarding the WRs, John Ross could make a bigger than expected impact. I think he'll help, but I doubt the impact is that huge. I see Two Wins as another guy we hate before he graduates. Hope I'm wrong. -
