Kirkland fucking sucks, but whatever. Who did he beat out? Matt James? I mean...

If you watched the games at all, we had 3 decent OL: Eldrenkamp (who played pretty well), Adams (when he knew what to do, he was good for a frosh) and McGary (same as Adams). Everyone else was shit or mediocre.

Kirkland embarrassed himself on a 'good' team, but this bullshit shows you how low expectations have gone.

You have to get constantly blown up to be a disappointment. He sucked. He got no push.

Fuck... Kirkland love is fucking dawgman level dooging.

I don't mind the over-inflated expectations dooging. That's just being a fan. But the fucking lowering of standards dooging drives me nuts.

Next year the starting OL will be something like:

    LT - Adams
    LG - Eldrenkamp
C - Shelton (who also sucks; but should be slightly better at C next year)
    RG - Sosebee/Roberts/Kirkland
    RT - McGary

If Kirkland plays it means our talented guys are fuckheads.

That said, I agree he's exceeded expectations.

However, if we'd had Josh Garnett, Zach Banner and Stephane Nembot on our line this year as we should have, he wouldn't have seen one fucking down.

I know you were being sarcastic but an orange cone would be an upgrade at center

2008-I can think of FIVE reasons.

    "The future is bright."

It's easy to see why, but when has that not been the common motto?

2009 was bright because Ty was gone.

2010 - Jake came back! Great recruiting class.

2011 - We won the Holiday Bowl. Oh shit, Price is actually good too!

2012 - new staff on defense!

2013 - Going to be special if Price plays like he did in 2011. Tosh is killing it recruiting!

2014 - Petersen! We finally have a coach.

2015 - Rebuilding year, but it's year two for Petersen.

I know not everyone believed this, so no need to point out that you didn't buy the bullshit. I could go back even further to illustrate this point. Bright futures have gotten us nothing.

Browning and Gaskin were featured in a "future is bright" Seattle Times story a few days ago.

Of course, they've been saying this about the defense for several weeks.

Now it's Andrew Kirkland's turn to recite this trendy line (link below).

If we aren't competing for a conference championship next year, all of this is bullshit.

How could Peter compete for a conference championship. Just a month or so ago you said Petersen is a dud for a head coach. After less than two years as our head coach, you and most every tard here already wrote Pete and his staff off.

Only puppy said "be patient, we are right on track". Too late Passion, you cant jump back on the wagon

    A) Never said he was "a dud."

    B) I said all this "future is bright" talk is BS if they don't compete for a conference championship. Never predicted they actually would.

If you can't handle the message boreds, find a new hobby.

The future has been bright for about 10 years now. "We were just so young this year." How about we win 10 games and then get excited?

If Peterson can't get UW to 9 or 10 wins consistently, then fuck it: Fold the program. Otherwise, it will just be another parade of Sark & Kiffin types, just like Neuheisel's tenure before. But for Tui, there's no Rose Bowl and we'd have been a 7 win team at best during those years. Time to wake the fuck up and realize that UW grew stale & died on the vine while others in the Pac12 ascended, big time, and passed UW by. Like USC under Carrol & especially Nike U under Belotti and the fat little chimp now in Philly. All this bitching and whining about what was promised or predicted shows what dumb assholes we have in our fan base. If you're taking the word of ESPN, or paying any attention to these masturbatory articles such as the one here, well, I guess there's nothing on TV to jerk off to, so on with the parade of clairvoyants measuring their dicks, again. We haven't seen defense like we had this year since the early 90's, and the offense was littered with freshman. So shut the fuck up and have a merry fucking Christmas, assholes. I woke up in a great mood today, and I don't know what in the hell happened.

it had nothing to do with "growing stale." It was intentionally dismantled and dominance will never be a priority until those who care about winning understand why this happened and who was and continues to be responsible

I've read Derek's book and I know the argument, but be real. The program started it's decline when James retired. Lambright was decent, but couldn't re-create the magic. Part was the sanctions, but the rest was a program and especially a defense that couldn't keep up with the emerging passing offenses in the Pac10. TW was a terrible hire, an asshole and a major self-inflicted wound, but the program wasn't dismantled overnight, and it won't come back overnight either. If Pete can win some big games next year and get us to 8 or 9 wins, it will be progress. If we really play well, we might have a shot at winning a P12N championship, but 2 or 3 more wins, and another year of dominating defense will be progress.

We have 3 OOC gimmes next year ooc. Going 5-4 in the Pac would be a complete failure. 6-3 would be disappointing and the definition of "incremental progress".

7-2 or greater means he is who we hope he is.

This bad ass D might very well lose 3 of its best players after next season (king-grad, Sydney-EE, Victor EE). Time for the O to step up. There are going to be holes on every roster in college football. Win or GTFO.

I don't think there was ever a major collective effort to just trash the program and make it horrible.

Gerberdung, Turner and maybe Emmert were the people with the mindset closest to that. Turner was just some clown participation trophy idealist. Emmert was, as always, being sneaky and making sure he looked good.

Other people like Ty and Gilby were bad coaches.

Kirkland is and will be extremely durable. He doesn't block anybody and tries hard to avoid contact. I feel confident saying he won't suffer a career ending injury.
