Borderline elite defense, poor to average offense. Water is wetter than usual today.

Those are pretty awesome. My issue with the improvement rankings is that as described it does not factor in varying SOS... like our last two games were against OSU and WSU...

It does. It's all based on ratios against each opponent. We scored 1.625 times more points against WSU than they typically give up and gave up .276 times as many points as they typically score. For OSU, we scored 1.286 times more points than they typically give up and gave up .394 times as many points as they typically score.

I suppose realistically our play calling wasn't JSFS the last two games which would look like improvement.

Anyways, I do like these analyses but as many on here have already said, good defense, bad offense -> 6-6 (aka what matters at the end of the day)

    Where'd these numbers come from?

My own spreadsheet. Just downloaded the entire college football schedule and derived the numbers from that.

You should plug the values into NCAA Football on your Xbox and play a season, just to be sure

So an elite defense with a shit offense equals 6-6.

An elite offense, even with three weeks of it being dreck and a shot defense is 9-3.

So if Oregon actually hired a real D-coordinator they could be 11-1/12-0 caliber all the time?

Not sure if I'm happy we were better than our record or pissed that we left wins on the table.

Jk...I'm pissed and damn well aware of it.
