Just looking a the highlights, he was either much faster and quicker than Gaskin, or else the Pac-12 was a fuck lot slower back then.

Stylistically, McGrew is closer to Kaufman.

I was #thefirst with the Sankey comp (I think), so you owe me royalties!

The similarity is not, of course, never ending—but they both have that small space burst and vision. They just look like they are processing things at a different pace than other people.

Seeing kaufman take the ball and run 90 yards down the sideline was my first real memory of husky football. I wanted to be like him. It's just too bad I'm tall skinny and slow

Gaskin is a pure vision and lateral runner. His lateral cut and speed in and out of sideways glides are insane.

Kaufman is a force of nature.

Actually good point, McGrew will be more similar to Kaufman when he gets in.

McGrew is a bigger DAT, so basically he can be a running back, where DAT would struggle holding up there. His foot speed in and out of cuts is crazy and his top end speed is legit.

I seriously almost edited it for that. But almost every RB these days fits that description. Other than McCaffree and McGrew.

Those guys are just workers. You might have more talent but you'll never outwork them. Gym rats. Like two coaches on the field.

Both deceptively fast, too.

During the CLEMPSUN game Fowler called their (our?) white punt returner scrappy; then said Dalvin Cook got a first down on 'pure talent'; Herbie gave a little grunt and he added, 'and hard work'.

Priceless moments in the broadcast booth.
