Troy Williams to Utah

To be fair, when you throw with your eyes closed it's hard to hit anyone at all.FremontTroll said:

Cyler never had to face a tuff BYU defense but he also never threw three Ints in one game. -
Cyler did drop a ball while running with no one near him... Just like Troy Williams did yesterday.FremontTroll said:

I just realized "not a dry eye" is playing black power next week.

Race and Doogles were right bump.

What is he on his 9th year of eligibility?Hippopeteamus said:I just realized "not a dry eye" is playing black power next week.

I suspect Williams sucks just like Miles and Lindquist. Maybe he will be average at Utah, but I doubt he's going to legitimately good. We'll find out soon enough.

There's a lot of stupid in this thread ... notably from @RaceBannon ... backing Troy Williams was never a smart idea -
in Race's defense, he was never the sharpest tool in shed.Tequilla said:

I'm going to reverse course on this.
Like Race, I was super skeptical of the OKG shit and picking culture over talent because we've seen it all before. 99.81% of the time that shit is bullshit by insecure coaches that produces nothing.
But every once in awhile thee coach is strong enough to actually set a legitimate culture, and talented enough to develop great players within that system. And in those rare instances it's worth it to sacrifice an insubordinate player for culture, even if it costs you wins in the short term.
I didn't agree with it at the time, but with the benefit of hindsight, Pete clearly knew what the fuck he was doing. The kids have bought in, they are behind the staff, and Pete's producing results.
We always say a coach gets three years to show he can win.
Pete did that.
He's not infallible, and I still question plenty of things (not going for fourth and 1 at Oregon, giving the ball to dry eyes for the game losing fumble, etc). But if Troy was as bad behind the scenes as Coker says, and that makes sense because otherwise not playing him over Miles makes no sense, then I think he made the right call not playing Williams. And Troy's chinability to hold down the starting gig at a QB wasteland like Utah only reinforces this.
It clearly has worked out.
