It's easy to judge in hindsight, and yeah, Rick would have probably mitigated that disaster five or six year stretch somewhat before he got fired eventually, but he wasn't helping himself along the way. -

If you were going to fire his ass in June ... then make Gilby a fucking temp and do a full search to get a real replacement.
