If Tui is asked back...

There is no need for him here.

Fuck that guy.
-
It's my guess that Petersen offered him the tight end coach position as a means of generating goodwill since he just got the UW job and Tui was and is a legend here. Now that Petersen has been here two years and established, I don't think he would even consider Tui as an assistant.
-
For now I think Tui has to find his way back on his own, he was offered a spot and chose to roll with Johnny Patron.
-
Tui would do well to become OC @ Univ. of San Diego or something, IMO.
-
Tui dug his own grave. He knew what kind of person Sark was and followed him to the limelight.
-
Thanks to Tui for all he did.
He's not an OKG as a coach.
He clearly didn't go with Johnny Patron to learn football ... He went to party. -
Judgement is clearly at issue with TUI. If anyone knew what was going on with sark it was all his coaches that spent time with him(especially after players were gone). They all knew how much drinking was going on and how he was. While TUI may have thought Sark would just continue on in his ways and he'd move on before patron exploded was a gamble(which he has since lost).
Peterson doesn't need another guy who has poor judgement running any offensive coaching position. If anything, we need review the OC role after this season and TUI isn't even sniffing that position.
I'll give smith one thing, if browning could make any throw at all we win that game by 30. The players were open, the play calling was solid for much of the game and browning couldn't hit the ocean standing on the beach. Hopefully now that they are calling longer passes browning will get in a groove and our continued run game will open up holes for better passes.
Either way, TUI had his chance and put his eggs in the wrong basket. Enjoy San jose State fella. -
Refresh - Did Petersen give Tui an opportunity to stay?
Frankly, I'm ambivalent. If he ends up back here, fine. If not, fine. -
Yes, he was offered the TE coach job at both UW and USC. At USC he also had some made up title like "assistant head coach". He chose to go be TE coach for Sark in the endPassion said:Refresh - Did Petersen give Tui an opportunity to stay?

Tui is a UW legend. Show some respect.
Also we don't know how commitable Petersens offer was. It might have been clear, internally, that it was more of a tip of a hat nod to his legacy offer and not an actual one. -

We don't need to rehash this shit....
Tui would make more $$ at USC and have a higher position. It's USC. You don't turn that down as a young assistant even if the HC is a complete fucktard. Look at what it did for Sark and Kiffin. Moreover, it helps build your network. TUI has now worked at UCLA and USC and has built some recruiting ties there. Thats much better for his career than staying at UW for 20 years. -
While it is rumors at this point as I'm not sure anybody has been willing to go on record about this with direct knowledge, if you have kept your ears open you've heard that Tui didn't follow Sark simply because he wanted USC on the resume ... if you know what I'm saying.
Tui is a Husky Legend and all of that ... but odds of him coaching at UW while Pete is here is probably slim at best. -

Marques will always be a hero. One of my alltime favorite players.
But events of the past six weeks make me seriously question his judgment regarding his coaching career. -
Separate Tui the hero from Tui the coach. Why would Pete, Woody, or really any other major program for that matter have interest in him or any of the USC coaches?TTJ said:Marques will always be a hero. One of my alltime favorite players.

I wouldn't want them anywhere near my program. Regardless of whether they partipcated in Sark's shenanigans they chose to hitch their wagons to him and now they'll have to pay the consequences.

To be fair, if you get offered the same position at USC or UW you take USC 100% of the time.
-
he can run the fuckin shine box.
hth. -
Tui is only 36 years old. That's fairly young for a football coach. This is only his 4th season as a real assistant coach. He has connections in both the college game and the NFL. There are plenty of coaches who have worked for fucktarded head coaches. I doubt football coaches will hold it against him like many here do.

Can we get Stan Emptermann to roam the sidelines? #Damone

I don't hold it against him, but he will need to go somewhere else to build his way up. Peterson keeps a lot of his guys and i don't see him going back to the TUI well. It's not career ending, but i'm not exactly interested in him coming back next year. Maybe in a few years.RoadDawg55 said:Tui is only 36 years old. That's fairly young for a football coach. Looking back, I wonder if that's why Tosh wanted to stay here instead of following Sark south. -

Tosh is a great recruiter and salesman in his own right so he has to have a strong intuition when it comes to people. There was some heat surrounding him at the time and his skills are actually less needed at a place like SC.Baseman said:

He has insane value at a place like UW where you can get in top 5 situations with big names but are generally the underdog. The DL didn't really suck with him either, though we are in a much better place as is.
