Top 5 Husky football moment all time for me.
-
His consecutive carries for -2 and -1 yards will be the things of Husky Legend
-
I really wish someone would have remembered which doog said, "There won't be a dry eye in the stadium." Anyone have any clue?
-
The truth is a couple of people clapped, but it pretty much went unnoticed. As a run up the middle for a loss and a penalty should be.RoadDawg55 said:I really wish someone would have remembered which doog said, "There won't be a dry eye in the stadium." Anyone have any clue?

On TV it did sound to me like there was a pretty decent ovation both times.MikeDamone said:

I heard the noise as well - could have been penalty angst in hindsight. The camera zoomed in on the back of hist jersey as well.TheKobeStopper said:

I expect to see a few carries out of him against the Illini, and maybe double digits against ISU.
-
All bullshit aside, he has lost a step, or three. No explosion. Granted, it was a small sample size, but I am guessing our hopes of him being AC are over.
-
Washington is the clear #2. The kid does not shy away from contact.
-
He's the next Corey Dillon, everyone says so.
-
I believe it was in Gregg Bell's article and it was Lorenzo Romar who said that.RoadDawg55 said:I really wish someone would have remembered which doog said, "There won't be a dry eye in the stadium." Anyone have any clue?

Admittedly I'm no NFL scout, but the three carries I saw got blown up at the line. Hard to put that on Cooper I'm not saying he's AC, I'm just saying it's a little premature to declare that he has "no explosion." Let it play out.Swaye said:All bullshit aside, he has lost a step, or three. No explosion. Granted, it was a small sample size, but I am guessing our hopes of him being AC are over.

Romar said there would be some people with tears, not quite the whole not a dry eye in the stadium. It was a poster on doogman.He_Needs_More_Time said:

Hey, I qualified it by saying "guessing," which is sort of like "hearing," and if you can't understand the difference then you might need a timeout.chrisvashon said:

I actually chuckled that his first carry didn't count cause of the chop block. Glad his first real carry resulted in a first down though.

Pretty sure Sark said something about him still being tentative to hit the holes hard... it's psychological not physical.
-
Dude has balls you would need to haul around in a wheelbarrow to even be out there. If I blew out three knees in three years, no way would I go out there to get pounded on by 300 pound pissed off DTs.TitusPullo said:Pretty sure Sark said something about him still being tentative to hit the holes hard... it's psychological not physical.

Joking aside, I don't think we can really gauge what he's capable of until he's got 3-4 games under his belt and some of the butterflies have been worked through.
-
I really hope Idaho State is his slump buster and he can get some confidence. Remember guys Sankey was average vs SDSU last year then terrible vs LSU. Then he tore it up vs Portland State and never looked back.DerekJohnson said:Joking aside, I don't think we can really gauge what he's capable of until he's got 3-4 games under his belt and some of the butterflies have been worked through.

Illinois should be bad enough to give him some opportunities.He_Needs_More_Time said:

I think Cooper and Callier are going to be fighting for scraps. Washington is the clear #2 RB. That kid runs hard and does not avoid contact.

Whoa...you said something smart. What the fuck got into you today?IrishDawg22 said:I think Cooper and Callier are going to be fighting for scraps. Washington is the clear #2 RB. That kid runs hard and does not avoid contact.

I think Callier will be a good all purpose back in the offense, just maybe not for a while or even this year. Hopefully he can get back to the point of returning kicks with Smith on the kickoffs again. That was the only time our return team was any good on kickoffs.
-
You know, Taylor getting RS'ed, and Callier being pushed back is actually a good thing. Shows we finally have enough depth to have legit position competitions, and sometimes, the older guys lose.
I mean, with Sankey holding down the starter slot, it's nice to see a RS Freshman just take the back up role. Not us have to give it to him because the guys in front of him all suck. Taylor and Callier don't suck. They may not be all world, but they would be solid contributors on most Pac-12 teams. -
and honestly, balls that big will certainly slow you down... could explain the lack of explosion trying to drag those upfield.Swaye said:

Randy Marsh agrees.
-
It also didn't help that on several of his runs, interior linemen were getting knocked 5 yards into the backfield.TitusPullo said:Pretty sure Sark said something about him still being tentative to hit the holes hard... it's psychological not physical.

I know it's early, but I'm pretty confident that John Ross is going to make Callier and Smith obsolete in the KR department.AtomicDawg said:I think Callier will be a good all purpose back in the offense, just maybe not for a while or even this year. while I'm pro-LIPO, i'm pretty sure he's already accomplished this.
-
Is this part of the two game minimum he will provide in the win column?
Ross is good enough to be on the field but he has two returns. One horrible and one good.
I reserve my right to doog it up about ross when he consistently does it in conference games.
