Fucking DWarsh gets like 2 yards on each of those Gaskin runs.
The first GIF of Washington run was AWFULLLLLLL.... They had a run blitz, we couldn't block all their guys (so one ran pretty free) but there was a MASSIVE hole if he just sees it and makes a little cut to his left. For some reason he just runs straight ahead though. UGH
On that 4th down where DW runs into the pile, he easily could have bounced it outside and had one guy to beat for a potential TD. Gaskin bounces that to the outside for sure.
Probably doesn't work out like that against PAC competition ... there will be a learning curve and lessons learned during the season on this leading to a few FGs instead of TDs.

Agree. On the bright side, there was a play with nothing there where it took three guys to bring Gaskin down. It was only a one or two yard gain, but he showed some power. At 5'9" 195, Gaskin has good size for a RB.

And to be fair I'd rather trade a known no gain or 1 yard loss for the chance to break free and get a TD at the risk of a 2-4 yard loss if it is 2nd or 3rd down. But if that was a 1st down run (not sure if it was or not), probably need to just put your head down and get as much as you can where the run was designed and not risk putting you back into a 2nd and long situation.
Early in the gamethread I commented on how weak Jake's arm looked. But here you can see he has plenty of punch when he needs to. Other times he softens it and makes it even more catchable. Love it.

IMO, that's EXACTLY what you should expect out of a QB, PG, etc.
At first I thought Browning stared down McClutchings. But looking at it more carefully I think he is looking at whoever is running the curl and keeping the corner there which allows for the over the top throw.
Comments
1) #81 moving onto 3 different blocks without really getting a piece of anybody ... allows the S to get outside leverage on him
2) Washington never looks to bounce the run outside ... if he did, he has a TD if he a) breaks a tackle or b) #81 gets that last block
